I can only hope and dream that Meydan Thursdays will be as successful as 2021 but look forward to trying to find a few winners at Meydan and following everyone’s progress up to the the Dubai World Cup in March.
Will also look forward to putting up a few selections and following your tips for the NH and AW racing and onto The Lincoln and the start of the flat season.

Enjoy the Thread and stay safe and healthy.. Jac :rose:

Thank you Jac for starting a new thread for a new year. May 2022 be a happy and healthy one for us all. I’m hopeful of finding a few winners in 2022 but above all I’m looking forward to the posts & the friendships we have found through this thread.

    Stay safe everyone!

Happy new year to you all.
In the opening maiden hurdle at fairyhouse. I am hoping for good runs from Reddy’s island and Carrig Sam.
There is an odds on shot running for Willie Mullins who looks very strong in this company.
Reddys island is a winning pointer who beat Tintern Abbey in a ptp. That form may not be strong enough here but Tintern Abbey won a decent bumper in England recently in very good style. Both of those two have outside chances of running into the top four.
Reddys is very much Gordon Elliott’s second string here, but intriguing that he has put a young apprentice on board claiming 7lbs.
Over in Hong Kong at Sha Tin three runners of interest in the final race 9.45
Ed walkers Zoom Boom debuts having won three times out of six in England. Drops down to seven here and while they don’t normally win straight away has a place chance. Three on the bounce is good form to bring here. Horsain bolt for the same yard also has place claims while the likely winner is End zone under the champion elect jockey.
    Forty minutes to race time.

Just those runners for me and perhaps some bumpers later, less really is more for me this month and going forward as they say…
I have developed a tricast and selection system based purely on physics ( more about that in the coming days)
    Good luck if you play.

Just a word of caution pretty sure turf races have been moved to the dirt except for the last race sprint
Good luck and happy New year

Well done Sam – a nice way to start the year with Carrig Sam.

I like a little E/Way on Whatsupwithyou in the 2:35 Chelt. Was a good hurdler last year, didn’t do much over fences his first two runs of the year but back over hurdles, I like his chances.

Good Luck with all bets today everyone!

Looks like we’re off to good start on the Thread with Sam getting into the winners enclosure..well done. :good:

I”ve quickly sorted out a few at Meydan today and interesting that
    On The Warpath
turns out again quickly for his new trainer after being a good servant to Charlie Appleby.

    3.45 .. King Of Conquest
    4.20 .. Desert Peace
    4.55 .. SILK ROMANCE *NAP*
    5.30 .. On The Warpath

All to WIN and a small Acca.. :good:

A whole host of non runners, don’t know if they have had a sandstorm or something. Best of luck. :good: Jac

    Hello Triptych,
Good to see you in here.
Hope Dave is doing well today.
I will be starting a bumpers thread for the year but till then…
    Klark Kent win
Looks a likely sort in the 345 at Fairyhouse.
Why would you give a horse such a name without real hopes of fitting that role!?
Mullin’s horses are spot on at the moment. Tough task here against the Elliott horse and naughtinesse but I think will win.

Final bumper of the day 4 05
    Knowsley Road. Win
Debuts for Paul Nicholls. Favourite and likely to know his job here. A short price running for this huge yard but a good second in Ireland before being sold.
I assume the name relates to Saint Helens old ground.

Knew his job alright and little use made of him but was beaten by Astronomic view.
Knowsley Road a big imposing horse and ridden with kid gloves all until the final furlong and couldn’t find enough in the finish against a determined opponent but certainly one to stay on the right side of. A good day with the winner at fairyhouse and Kansas city Chief.

Just gone through the upcoming 4.55
    Maydan
    And wow!!
    What a debut by
    Shahama
    Win
    Last time out.
Often a horse nicks a lead on dirt and is hard to peg back but this one was levels coming into the last straight.
Pulled away in final furlong and won by 9 lengths.
One of these was running there too and in that evidence will be difficult to beat in the same mood.
Might be different against more polished opponents but when they win like that they need to be followed….

    5.30

    Alkaraama
    Each way
Is a big outsider here but placed here last time.
    Conditions appalling.

We have just seen the next guineas winner previous race.
Others notably Gladiator king and Switzerland should win here.

So right about the conditions af Meydan Sam that’s why they had so many non runners they had some unusually heavy rainfall today. I got the feeling the Godolphin horses needed the run but were saved and never ran their races. So not drawing any lines through them yet although Shahama was mighty impressive.
Switzerland was a great pick in the last.. well done with him. :good:

Noticed Klarc Kent was quite a distant 3rd Sam but why push him when he’s not close enough to win. Noticed he is quite well named his Dam being called Kryptonie. :rose: Shame he doesn’t have the power to turn back time and run that one again.

Government have stopped all visiting at our hospitals from today which is shame for all folk in hospital as those visits are so important in patients making a quick recovery but we did speak on the phone which helped.

Look forward to your Bumpers Thread Sam I always like to try to figure out a NH flat race….best of luck.. Jac :rose:

Great start to the new year Sam, you were just run out of a HUGE
double when Kansas City Chief was run down right at the death but
a great 12/1 win with Karrig Sam and a good place :good:

Jac, I hope Dave is going the right way at the moment, it’s a bit of
a downer that you can’t visit him now. As you said, you at least got
to talk to him which is a comfort. Wish him all the best :good:

So looking forward to the new Godolphin Competition, less than a week
    away now.

I hope you guys all had a splendid New Year, surely this one has to be
better than the last 2

Thanks Graham it helped to talk but hope this doesn’t last too long. I think they did it as they are fearing a surge as people return to work and school on Tuesday but surely with 1 in 25 reported as having been infected ‘herd’ immunity cannot be far away, can only hope.

Thanks for the Fantasy League reminder Graham..I won’t be doing a competition this time just put up our choices on here and keep tabs of our scores at the end of each month like we used to do when Nick was playing and hoping he might pop in from time to time. Also hope Sam might take part too with some selections.
    Keep it simple. :good: Jac
