I’d get Matron or VTC to delete the whole Thread Joe if I had any say, it seems to have moved a million miles away from Ruby’s first post and as you suggest it could have implications..
The silly season is upon us
That doesn’t mean MC is off the hook for his behaviour..IMO he can be a first class A-hole at times.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...January 2, 2018 at 17:26 #1335382Woah, WTF is going on here talk about over-reaction, where have I said Chapman is a threat to any female, all I said was that I wouldn’t be happy if one of my daughters was involved with him. He is a first class arse.
If it everyone happy I will delete that part of my earlier post.
Let’s not upset anyone.
January 2, 2018 at 19:47 #1335394Colin, for the record, I completely agree. It was the relevance of the post I commented on, not the content. There was nothing wrong with the content at all.
A complete over-reaction, and the irony is I am not a fan of him either.
January 2, 2018 at 21:24 #1335402It was all about poor Lessons In Milan and MC’s uncaring reaction to his demise. Some get more upset by the loss of horses than others I certainly do.

Posting about deleting the Thread should have been accompanied with a wink
a mistake on my part, you forget that people can’t hear your voice when you post. The whole thing was spiralling off in different directions and sometimes things get misinterpreted, but all seems resolved now.
Normal service resumed and all respects to Lessons In Milan and his connections. Jac

All good as far as I’m concerned, nothing to see here, all good.
April 2, 2018 at 22:48 #1348892Weird incident on at the races today Chapman disappeared at 5.30 replaced by anthony ennis who broadcast an apology on behalf of the channel if chapman had offended viewers with a comments about a motorway.
It appears matt said there was more carnage in the irish grand national than on the m25.
Not sure why that warrants an on air apology

Hmmmm. Probably something to do with two people being killed on the M62 this morning. It only made the national news- perhaps a journalist should’ve been aware of this incident?
April 3, 2018 at 10:56 #1348927There was also one fatality on the M25 02/04/2018. (Surrey stretch)
April 5, 2018 at 00:59 #1349126You can’t be expected to vet every possible comment for potential offence. I don’t like Chapman’s style but he can’t be scanning Google for up to the minute viability of comments.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
May 5, 2018 at 10:13 #1353042Just said on the opening show that the reason Sam T Davis is leaving Paul N is Paul N is putting a Women on the Grade 1 horses and he cant handle that …… Is this the end of Chapppers ? it think Chapman is right but i don’t think His bosses and PC people will bye bye
May 5, 2018 at 10:57 #1353056Sam’s position as #1 jockey for Nicholls is being threatened by the progress of Cobden, and to a lesser extent Bowen and Frost. Considering he’s just finished the season with over 100 winners and a Grade 1 to boot, I think he has made the decision to jump while his stock is at his highest rather than see his role as Nicholls’ #1 squeezed over the coming seasons.
For me, the issue here with Chapman is that he’s trying to make this situation a male vs female issue when it plainly isn’t.
May 5, 2018 at 11:50 #1353074I like Nicholls as a trainer, one of the greatest NH trainers unquestionably.
But his treatment of his own stable jockeys, leaves a lot to be desired in my opinion. Since Ruby left him, he seems to have a cold streak in him now, as far as his own stable jockey appointments are concerned. I did not really like the way he treated Jacob, and the writing has been on the wall for STD for a long while now.
A different subject I know, but he should have a look at himself, as to why he does not get the top horses anymore, and stop blaming his stable jockey ultimately.
It’s like de ja vu… Young, very promising up and coming jockey gets the job… Has his spirits crushed by his own trainer within a couple of seasons. If the stable do not come up with some more G1 animals this year or next… It will be young Cobden who gets it in the neck.
May 6, 2018 at 07:55 #1353201We don’t know what goes on at Ditcheat and neither does Chapman. And I will look at it another way.
I’ve seen STD ride some shocking races when my money has been down and it could be that feedback from connections of them sort of rides has contributed to the decision.
There’s also the possibility in STD’S mind that the Cobden and Frosts of this world are on the way up and he better announce freelance to the world before he risks the indignity of being told he ain’t good enough.
May 6, 2018 at 09:37 #1353210Sam Twiston-Davies doesn’t have the confidence to go with his talent and this probably won’t have helped.
When he said the choice was entirely his, I suspect that Nicholls said, ‘Sam, here are the options you have ….’
May 6, 2018 at 12:07 #1353237He’s lost me plenty of money to Mike, but he’s one of the better NH jockeys around IMO, especially on these shores. It was only last season that they were winning every big sat TV handicap it seemed, although the G1 horses were gone. I see it more this way… Since Ruby left, Nicholls now unquestionably gives massive riding orders to his young stable jockeys. Running wide, being the major one, which I have highlighted on this forum before. He (Nicholls) pretty much ruined Jacobs confidence before Sam (look at Daryl now). The double green owners don’t look like their ever going to send Nicholls horses either. It speaks volumes to me. I think these young jockeys have got it in the neck, as the stable has been on a downward spiral, from previous great highs. It’s very easy, for the jockey to keep getting blamed by the trainer, to the owner. I mean if it’s not the jockeys fault, who’s is it? Could it be Paul’s?
Poor Harry Cobden will be the next one getting blamed, unless the stable themselves, turn back the clock.
May 27, 2018 at 13:53 #1355187Another gem from Max Headroom on ATR just now, saying that Pat Smullen was looking so well after his chemotherapy that we should all sign up for the treatment.
What an utter cretin.
May 27, 2018 at 14:05 #1355189Obviously never known or been close to someone going through chemo to know how debilitating the treatment is.
All good wishes to Pat Smullen
his positive attitude will go a long way to get him back on the road to good health.Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out... - AuthorPosts
