16 21218- You´resothrilling 380 A P O´Brien [/list:u:2itir6az]Interesting line up this especially is Sabana Perdida comes over for Royer-Dupre. The rematch of Lush Lashes and Halfway to Heaven aswell as some pretty handy figures in the shape of Carribean Sunset and Baharah.
Mr Wilson of this board said that it was only a matter of time Baharah stepped up to group company but I cant see her challenging the top few here. A place would be a promising progression.
It’s got to be Halfway to Heaven for me again. I feel this filly holds the mental edge over Lush Lashes and Jim Bolger and has had the small extra rest since the Goodwood win (Lush Lashes of course had a run out at Newmarket last week).
Carribean Sunset could be the suprise package here and anything around 6/1 would make me back each way.
September 2, 2008 at 11:29 #178968It is an interesting field and perhaps the most interesting runner is Listen who has was highly fancied for the 1000 but obviously has had problems. Hard to see beyond Halfway To Heaven and Lush Lashes though and the latter looks the better filly to me.

A P O’Brien "Listen, Listen……" Aidan will be repeating himself repeatedly if she were to win!
September 4, 2008 at 18:47 #179392Lush Lashes for me.
I’m sure Kevin Manning will be playing it very safe when timing his run this time.
September 4, 2008 at 20:54 #179414Nahoodh for me to cause an upset.
September 4, 2008 at 21:48 #179423Lush Lashes for me.

EDIT: Ignore me, just deleted my post here where I just stated why Lush Lashes wouldnt win at a mile this time round and then remembered she won impressively at a mile during Royal Ascot.
Still think HTH will beat LL though as this is HTH dropping down to her preferred distance. LL is favouring the longer distance nowadays and doing it well
September 4, 2008 at 21:58 #179428With a username like yours i guessed you might favour HTH.
Lush Lashes would be my choice although if the rain comes Nahoodh could have a say.
Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
September 4, 2008 at 21:59 #179429EDIT: HTH, I saw your edit, just in time.

I would’ve thought an ‘administrative error’ would be a positive though.
Didn’t he ‘misplace’ New Approach in the Derby?

Too true sir!
Looking at it on comparison with that, I guess we werent sure if NA would make the Derby trip. With LL we know she will take the mile as shes’s done it before and with some ease. I still cannot fathom why Bolger’s dropped her down again after good runs higher in trip recently. Are there no more Grp1’s at that level to come??
Just had a flicker through the odds for this, if anyone wants to take Listen take him on Paddy Power now at 7-1! He’s shortened to 5-1 on the exchanges.
September 4, 2008 at 22:18 #179439Perhaps a multiple Group 1 winner over a mile makes a more desirable broodmare than one with a clutch of 1m 2f+ Group 1 victories.
I’m not saying that’s what’s foremost in Jim Bolger’s mind, but it has to be a factor.
September 5, 2008 at 13:13 #179527On the likely going (Irish Soft IMO), I think Caribbean Sunset has a great chnace of beating the front 2, both of whom have doubts regarding the ground.
September 7, 2008 at 13:01 #179836Lush Lashes ran a very disappointing race on soft on reappearance, very much doubt she is at her best on it.
Halfway To Heaven is over-rated though could get a soft lead again out in front. Is though (imo) too short in the market.
Nahoodh ran really well in the Falmouth on going probably between good and good-soft, but ran poorly on reappearance on soft ground.
So if it is softer than good-soft I’d rather be on Carribean Sunset or an outsider.

September 7, 2008 at 14:54 #179859Nice run by Nahoodh there. Thought that Nahoodh was going to win at one point!
Well done LL backers

Sorry have just seen this so forgive me if this seems like aftertiming That race as you say was her reappearaance, and if you watch the video, you can see that she just pulls her riders arms out for most of the way. It wasn’t a great surprise that she had little left when the crunch came. I thought that was more of a factor than the fact that the ground was heavy.
Good ride by Manning on Lush Lashes. Knew he was on the best filly and knew she stayed. A lesson learned from Goodwood.
September 7, 2008 at 17:11 #179905A very sensible ride and a very game performance by Lush Lashes. I thought You’re So Thrilling ran well on her reappearance too – certainly above my expectations.
