Very strong entry….

The one I really like for this is the Pipe trained What A Moment, but he runs tomorrow after a long layoff. He’s perhaps one for the next meeting with a run under his belt.
I’m equally as interested in White Moon, but he’s got other options, so easy enough to wait on him too.
The most obvious ones for me though, with questions around that pair are Cogry, and The Young Master. Both should lap this up, plenty going for them in s of this nature, and at 9’s and 10’s respectively, both fairly priced.
Rock The Kasbah would be in a similar mould to that pair, while any McNeil horse is worth a second look round here, and Keeper Hill is interesting too.
I’d love to see Minella Rocco bounce back here, but the jury’s out, while if it wasn’t for his tame reappearance, then that 20’s for Royal Vacation could tempt me, and he’s not ruled out here at all.
The Irish pair of Na Trachtalai Abu and Mindsmadeup are both interesting too on their best summer form, and interest would obviously increase if there were positive vibes about travelling over.
Shantou Village made the opposite journey for The Kerry National, and was so unlucky not to make the frame. Struggling to see why he’s 20’s.
I don’t think we’ve seen the best of Onefortheroadtom, and he’s got the look of a very live outsider, and I feel the same about Get On The Yager.
Plenty of interesting ones then, but unfortunately enough question marks too, and perhaps Cogry and The Young Master are the safest options right now, and that’s without mentioning the Nicholls trained fav Captain Cattistock.
If they weren’t doubly declared, I would probably chance White Moon or What A Moment, but no option to leave for now.
I think the sensible options are Cogry or The Young Master, and they’re both too big, but I’m also drawn by the prices of Get On The Yager, Onefortheroadtom, and Royal Vacation.
With so much confusion, I’m happy to wait. Looks a cracker though.
October 22, 2019 at 01:13 #1472292Interested by lots here :
JUST A STING
CAPTAIN CATTISTOCK
BOB MAHLER
KEEPER HILL
ONEFORTHEROADTOM
ROCKY TREASURE
& WHITE MOONMy choice of Bob Mahler & Keeper Hill are based on their current best price and how they handle round Cheltenham.
You've got to accentuate the positive.
Eliminate the negative.
Latch on to the affirmative.
Don't mess with mister in between.October 22, 2019 at 16:38 #1472337I like Rock The Kasbah here at 11-1. I like him enough to bet him early as well.
October 22, 2019 at 19:56 #1472355I think I can rule out What A Moment, based on that comeback today.
Just the one down though, and this still looks too difficult for an early go.
October 25, 2019 at 11:00 #1472485Worth noting the forecast suggests pretty steady rain tomorrow morning so it might be worth holding selections for a bit!

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!October 25, 2019 at 22:29 #1472769Very interesting race, quite competitive. Hard to figure out, but I ended up with Shantou Village and Get On The Yager. Shantou Village ran some fine races two and three years ago, competiting against the best novices, especially at Cheltenham. The last two years weren’t that great, although he started as favourite in this race last year. His late race was the Kerry National a few weeks ago, where he unseated at the last fence. I think he would have won that race otherwise. So course form, a nice mark and good form. I also like Get On The Yager. He is a real stayer and mud lover, so the rain will certainly help. He has dropped a lot in the weights, but that is mainly due to running in too short races. He is now on a lower mark then when winning the Rowland Meyrick.
Shantou Village 16/1 EW
Get On The Yager 25/1 EWOctober 26, 2019 at 00:15 #1472793Such a good renewal, seriously good race.
DBR, I’m joining you with Get On The Yager. I’ve taken that 25’s EW to max places, and there’s a good chance I’ll be identical to you with Shantou Village. It’s just a question of going with just him, or splitting Stakes with Mindsmadeup. Decisions.
Get On The Yager 25’s EW 5 Places
Shantou Village/MindsmadeupOctober 26, 2019 at 07:51 #1472807Looks like it has rained ovenight so have joined you two and added one by the sire of Ms Parfois so hope he likes the ground too
Get on the Yager 25s ew 5pl
Bob Mahler 25s ew 4plOctober 26, 2019 at 10:17 #1472850Doesn’t look like anyone has picked the winner yet. So I may as well.
West Approach ew in the mud.October 26, 2019 at 10:54 #1472859Hope so Mike. He ran well enough in this race last year, the softer ground should get him closer this time around.
October 26, 2019 at 11:06 #1472864Great race, shame about all the non runners.
Crosspark will be suited by the test of stamina after all the rainfall and isn’t harshly treated on his Eider/Scottish National form.
Captain Chaos has been knocking on the door and will also appreciate the rain. Willing to overlook his recent run.
October 26, 2019 at 11:49 #1472873If Mindsmadeup jumps round it will have a chance in my opinion. Good bit of form with Ravenhill and looks a little forgotten in the betting!
16/1 five places each way looks a nice bet to me
October 26, 2019 at 13:32 #1472895Western approach deserves a race and it well could be today , had a tickle on Skelton’s 2 as well , going to watch minella Rocco to , no head gear or tongue tie so def a few pounds off run …but Barry is riding …I def smell a festival punt if there’s still a horse there ….I’m positive he,ll pull up in the ground today
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
October 26, 2019 at 13:51 #1472899Added Captain Chaos ew at 16s. Jumped well here in March and for most of the way at Chepstow and withdrawals give him a better chance of a clear sight at his fences. Although blinkers left off and he has done well with them on.
October 26, 2019 at 14:05 #1472900West Approach has become one of those horses who is inexplicably well backed in these handicaps. Are punters convinced he’s forever well in because of his hurdle form? I’m just not convinced chasing is his game.
Watch him win this going backwards
October 26, 2019 at 14:08 #1472902Just realised there was a thread for this, so rather than type it out all again this is
from the Cheltenham thread………I put up St Calvados and Burrows Park in their respective threads, but I’ve
also taken Crosspark in the opener at cheltenham. I should be well miffed at him
as he cost me a fair bit when he mugged Mysteree on the run in in the Eider.
I originally was going to exclude him yesterday as he needs probably the best
part of 4m, but it’s going to be tough out there today and I think his stamina
will still come into play. I took 20/1 this morning, but there have been 5
withdrawn since then, although the lowest priced of those was 9/1, so I’m
not sure if I’m beating the 14/1 that he’s trading off of or not, probably
not
October 26, 2019 at 14:14 #1472903Wd winners. WA did everything right except win.
