LD73 yes I can see him being quite happy out in the hunting field, Balthazar King is quite a field master out there now

January 3, 2023 at 19:54 #1629546Unfortunately they said he loved jumping the National fences so I think they’ll try him over the National course again. Maybe he jumped well but scared himself at the same time. I would have loved to see him stay at the top of his game because of the story behind him.
January 3, 2023 at 22:10 #1629569Moehat yes he did seem to enjoy them. Maybe they could go shorter trip rather then the national trip. I know they where going run him in the becher chase but he didn’t run due to ground I think

January 4, 2023 at 00:16 #1629584I thought I’d heard he’s bled in the past as well as wind issues. Some Tizzard horses are running really poorly, could have expected better from War Lord in the same race
January 4, 2023 at 01:12 #1629587In my Jumping Prospects book the stable put up War Lord as the best horse in the yard. Then again a lot of horses disappointed on Saturday.
January 4, 2023 at 05:08 #1629589Fiddlerontheroof was disappointing in the Hennessy , id say The Big Breakaway has been the best performance and Eldorado Allen the best horse this year
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
January 4, 2023 at 06:03 #1629592I think Joe (Steeplechasing) and CAS hit the nail on the head. there’s
not a lot more I can add to that except that the horse is 11 years old,
won 6 races in very decent company, including the Betfair Chase and the
Mildmay. Maybe time to let the old boy out to pasture whilst hacking
around leafy woodlands. He’s got nothing more to prove.February 24, 2023 at 15:07 #1636852What are they doing with this poor horse…….it is just plain sad and ultimately so unnecessary to keep subjecting him to this ignominy, they hadn’t even jumped 4 fences and he was already off the bridle and out the back.
Please retire this horse immediately before anything happens to him that you can’t take back…he deserve better than trailing miles behind horses he could have carried on his best day.
February 24, 2023 at 15:20 #1636854Stewart Machin said before racing that the owner had told him it was likely to be the horse’s last race.
February 24, 2023 at 15:54 #1636860After any of his last four races he should have been retired and I would want a more difinitive statement than ‘likely to be his last race’. I mean what more evidence do they need to see that he is done as a racehorse?
They could let him be used as a hack and/or to lead the Tizzard string in the mornings if they don’t have anywhere to house him themselves.
February 24, 2023 at 16:01 #1636861Clearly the 420 grand he’s won the owners isn’t enough, hasn’t shown a thing in 15 months but let’s send him out in a class 3 as a 40/1 shot.
The trainer and owners know best though
February 24, 2023 at 17:02 #1636865Just announced he’s been retired
