GT, you know Ricci has now said Djakadam might go Ryanair? (Not that his suggestions count for anything but thought I’d alert you just in case)

Djakadam didn’t settle anywhere near as well as usual in the Lexus, Joe. If (and only if) that’s an uncurable recent trait learnt, then the Ryanair would be the way to go. But he’s been second in two Gold Cups (Mullins should be able to relax the horse) so how likely is it really? It’s not as if Ricci or Mullins has a viable alternative Gold Cup runner. I know when there’s a short priced Gold Cup favourite the Ryanir could look tempting; but Ricci regrets not running Vautour last year and can’t see him running away from one horse. Considering who the trainer is – even when there’s minimal chance of a horse going for a race – they’ve got to make out it’s seriously being contemplated just in case. Otherwise they’ll get even more stick for changing targets (Vautour!). So I’d have been surprised if there hadn’t been this suggestion, keeping options open.
