Venture to Cognac….Well we weren’t far off the money with American Trilogy. I thought coming to the last that we were booked for fourth, which would have done nicely at 33-1, but Dougie Costello got Well Regarded up on the run in. Costello is having a real purple patch, four seconds and 3 winners in the last 4 days.
I know 5th is as good as 15th, but it somehow feels worse. Oh well.
G, I had the 5 places @ 365 so very happy with him in the end, especially as I got the 40’s, on top of 33’s. Thought he was coming with a big run, but couldn’t quite keep it up.
Yet another massive successful gamble pulled off by PWise, the man is awesome when it comes to these big race handicaps!!
Terrible for Will Kennedy though, they must look at some of these new rules again!! Just hope the owners gave him his reward for such an inspired ride!! Maybe not the 2,500 he lost but somewhere close!!
