FOR HIMSELF. Dr.M.V.O’Brien was not a real doctor. But I suppose you know that.On the other hand Lester was a real genius.
July 9, 2010 at 08:26 #305574Yet another huge boost give to Harbinger’s form at Royal Ascot today. Anything over 3/1 must surely be snapped up.
How does a win by Sans Frontieres over Redwood boost the chances of Harbinger?
Harbinger was one of my Fav horses last season but face facts he’s a Group 3 horse who has won a below average Group 2 race taking on an Epsom Derby winner and giving him weight albeit WFA.
I am literally gobsmacked at your first question. Harbinger beat a very solid Group 2 animal in the Hardwicke by 3 and a half lengths, Duncan is a bit of a dodgepot right enough but with something to chase he ran his very best race for me – certainly over 120. The third and fourth were beaten 9 and 10 lengths and have FRANKED the form big style n the last week.
You seem to be under the impression that because the Hardwicke is a Group 2 it can’t produce an outstanding winner. If Harbinger is as you say a solid Group 3 horse how come he’s been beating those kind of animals by upwards of ten and twelve lengths? Your post is the most baffling I think I’ve read on here.
Group 2 this Group 3 that Epsom Derby blah blah blah – The Derby form looks worthless relatively speaking at this stage – or put it another way comparing the 2010 version to 2009 would be like comparing the ’10 Eclipse to the ’09 Eclipse.July 9, 2010 at 09:09 #305580Yet another huge boost give to Harbinger’s form at Royal Ascot today. I’ve been torn between Harbinger and Profound Beauty since the entries came out but I must agree that the Tactic form line looks rather inferior to the Harbinger form after todays race.
Will you stop kidding yourself Profound Beauty is a King George Filly! No Chance! Now put her up for the Irish St Leger and you could be on to a winner!
Agreed The Irish St Leger looks THE perfect race for her but dismiss her at your peril for The KG. I suggest you re-run The Saval Beg Stakes and watch the way she reels in your much loved Age Of Aquarius in a matter of strides after he’s stolen a good few lengths approaching the straight under a very enterprising ride. Has to be one of the most impressive bursts of speed from a middle distance horse this season. Her latest run was dissapointing admittedly but Pat Smullen was very easy on her and I have a feeling she’ll be ridden from the front to make the most of her stamina at Ascot, there’s no better jockey on a front runner riding today. The going is my biggest concern not any of this years very average bunch of 3-Y-Olds, not a "Vintage Crop"

Thank you for that.

July 9, 2010 at 11:20 #305599So Dr Feelgood aren"t real Doctors either then!!
July 9, 2010 at 15:57 #305665Only if you are feeling poorly.Murtagh got six days for veering to the rail. Will miss King George.Better win today than dream of next week.
July 9, 2010 at 19:44 #305706Did Ante Post treble TWICE OVER in the Eclipse, STARSPANGLEDBANNER in the July Cup and HARBINGER in the King George, pays cheeky grand! :0)

If Lester knew more than Dr M. V. O’Brien, I’ll eat my head, and everyone else’s into the bargain.
This is not a race to ruminate over. Just back Workforce then go collect your cash. Simple.
Exactly!!!!!!
July 11, 2010 at 09:13 #305924This might be as straightforward as Daylami vs Oath. I really think the Derby form is horsepuckey.
And after doubling Harbinger with Wigmore Hall yesterday I have he equivalent of like 9/1 on the 4yo for the race and I aint even gonna hedge.

Herbert the Sherbert reckons he’s over the moon OP is going to ride Harbinger…..Wonder how he feltwhen Ryan Moore said pooh hooh I’m riding Workforse.
For those who have backed Harbinger please accept my condolences in advance.
July 14, 2010 at 16:39 #306420Message for TAPK …or anyone else I suppose
I read in another thread that you can’t split Harbinger and Workforce….no contest…a three year old won’t win this year, there just not up to much buy recent standards, At First Sight’s latest runs tells you all you need to know about The Derby form, I fancy an EW on your old pal Age Of Aquarius he’s far better value (and a better horse) than Workforce especially if Seamus Heffernan is allowed to poach a similar lead to the one he stole at Epsom, lets face it, if AOA met At First Sight would you not expect AOA to beat the 3-Y-O by more than 7 lengths? I’d put my house on it!
PS
Profound Beauty misses the race and instead is going for a blatant penalty kick in a 1m6f listed race at Leopardstown tomorrow night leaving the way clear for Harbinger in The KG
Go for the double
July 14, 2010 at 17:59 #306449I wouldn’t rate the Derby through At First Sight CS, that could be dangerous. Instead rate the form through Mida’s Touch and Jan Vermeer, who finished together at both Epsom and The Curragh.

Jan Vermeer hardly boosted the form in France…I rest my case but well done THM in backing the winner!!!
July 14, 2010 at 19:04 #306467That’s as good as Jan Vermeer is, particulaly over 1m 4f, that’s why Workforce stuffed him
Thanks by the way
July 14, 2010 at 19:39 #306474Look guys back on a right handed course and i pray it does not rain. the winner of KG is Daryakana she stuff them all
