Really think the way is open for the 2 3yo’s Sakhees Secret and Dutch Art to dominate this. Preference is very much for the latter
Don’t like putting words in others mouths, but given your previous postings I think you meant former, David?
July 13, 2007 at 11:13 #107676Jeez David… Like I said in my post, I don’t lay but if I did I would lay Sakhees secret, but I don’t, so its just an opinion….
Had a good look at this race now and whilst it is his first appearance since a 2yo I always liked Hellvelyn a lot as a juvenile and he was always built like a sprinter. I can’t imagine Smart would run him in this if he wasn’t fully wound up so at 40/1 i’m going to have an additional speculative e/w punt on him. Asset to win as well.
July 13, 2007 at 14:38 #107715Sakhee’s Secret for me – looks like a champion waiting to happen .
July 13, 2007 at 15:01 #107720I like SS.Been following him this season although didn’t back him last time. In saying that I think Asset’s run at RAscot on unfavourable ground was excellent and a repeat on todays ground would make him very hard to beat. The more I think about it the more I fancy Asset.
July 13, 2007 at 15:02 #107721Prime Defender and Red Clubs are over priced in my opinion. Last time out form gives them no chance of reversing placings with the horses that finished in front of them – but at the odds, I am going to have a few small each way bets.
My heart (but not my head) still thinks Sakhee’s Secret can win and go on to be a champion sprinter so I am not having a win bet, though I would be happy if Prime Defender or Red Clubs did him

July 13, 2007 at 15:06 #107723What a race . What a performance.
July 13, 2007 at 15:06 #107724WOW!
That was impressive. Only won by a small margine but he travelled ever so well and could well be the champion sprinter we have been longing for.
Im delighted. The one I wanted to win won, and my each way bet was landed, or at least one of them anyway

July 13, 2007 at 15:11 #107725Easy – very good horse indeed
July 13, 2007 at 15:14 #107726Looked the winner a long way out. Very impressive I thought. Happy to say I was one of the 19%… or 21%, as it now is!

July 13, 2007 at 15:15 #107727Take the winner out of the race and I reckon we’d be saluting Dutch Art as a worthy champion sprinter. Very impressive.
July 13, 2007 at 15:19 #107729Superb stuff and that was surely a much hotter field than we usually see…
July 13, 2007 at 15:25 #107731Watch the head on Dutch Art got pretty badly hampered and lost a couple of lengths at one point and got shuffled back. A re-match between the first two would be a contest to savour.
Good horses, impressive Sakhee’s Secret.

Yes it was.
The one thing I would say just to bring us all down back to earth is the close proximity of Red Clubs. I’m not a ratings guy so I don’t know how this form ties in with the Golden Jubilee, but just from a pure visual point of view, there isn’t much between Soldiers Tale and Sakhee’s Secret/Dutch Art from the 2 races.
Though with Michael Hills saying the race rode like a real quality group 1, I would like to think that Red Clubs ran a few lengths better than at Ascot (and his form with Asset suggests he did), meaning, the winner and second here are 2 very decent sprinters indeed.

July 13, 2007 at 15:31 #107734The two RAscot sprints and todays have been terrific contests. Bring on York and Haddock.
July 13, 2007 at 15:34 #107737Haddock.
Wrong thread for the fish jokes Heffo

July 13, 2007 at 15:43 #107741Isn’t it curious how the poll percentage for Sakhee’s Secret has risen followiing the race?!
