Sir buskers rated 115 and loves to pick up the pieces in races, even if you base what baeed did off sir busker and forget mishriff, hes still ran to 136

So it doesnt drag it down whatsoever

To elaborate on that 9 lengths the gap at 115 puts baeed at roughly 133 but given he had plenty left he will get bumped, guaranteed 135-137 but theyll settle in the middle

“Go for the Arc, please, Mr Haggas.”

Agree, what would beat him? Really heavy ground, perhaps. But no horse would beat him on reasonable ground.

But it is very unlikely to happen. It will be Champion Stakes and off to stud.

The Arc can be a bit of a lottery with the ground and the draw and traffic problems for a hold up horse so there is a lot that could beat him but that option to run is now very much more on the table than it was pre race.

“makes it hard to believe Mishriff ran to his OR.”

He had to kick on early to try and beat Baeed. Thats why the 3rd was a bit closer. Without Baeed he would’ve probably won like Baeed did. It was 5 v 1. Tactical in trying to beat Baeed.

Beaten Sir Busker 9L – I don’t pertain to have the correct knowledge to work out what the rating will be given for this but would a high 130s number be dependant on the 3rd running at least 115 or even a career best?

“The Arc can be a bit of a lottery with the ground and the draw and traffic problems.”

I think Baaeed would win from any draw.

It is probably academic though. I expect connections will want him to go through his career unbeaten, so they will take the straightforward option with Ascot.

    128 Baaeed 129
    124 Mishriff 120
    115 Sir Busker 115
    117 Dubai Honour 114
    121 Native Trail 107
    119 High Definition 74

OR (I don’t do inflated Timeform) on the left, a rating for today based on the bare result, allowing 1.5lb a length at the trip and rating it through the third.

And the way Baaeed’s won you’d have to give a + to the winner’s rating.

Career best for Baaeed the way I look at these things, as that’s the most miserly interpretation I can put on rating the race.

A mile off ian, theyll give him 2 lengths per 1lb at this distance due to the manner he won

It doesnt work like that either rating HD 74 either who set the pace or NT who didnt stay

Sir busker will get bumped to 118 mishriff will stay 124 and baeed will be as i said 135-137

Typo there, Chezza. HD is 119 (and even that’s generous!), not 129

    “A mile off ian”

    A mile off what?

I’m not into second-guessing the BHA Handicapper, I simply do my own performance numbers for each race and I’m always cautious as stated.

If the BHA rate him 137, 3lb off Frankel (140 OR – the 147 at as with inflated Timeform) on that it’s too high.

Farhh and St Nicholas Abbey were better than the likes of Sir Busker.

Racing Post Ratings have already allocated Baaeed a 138.

That puts him level with Sea The Stars and 5lbs behind Frankel on that scale.

Sea the Stars didn’t get the chance to run at 4.
For me his 3 y/o season was superior to anything else’s 3 y/o campaign and could have produced/improved at 4

Beating Sir Busker in cold blood by nine or beating Farhh and St Nicholas Abbey in cold blood by seven.

    Which is greater?

    You, the Jury, decide.
