Thanks Jac. One more bet. Can’t resist Majoris upped in trip and decent odds.
£25ew Majoris – 7-1 3.45 Lingfield lost

April 7, 2017 at 23:57 #1295886Sorry to not reply Jac – was a mentally busy week! Yes Sovereign Debt was desperately unlucky but one to look out for now upped in trip. Just the one bet for tomorrow. I was really taken by Orderofthegarter at Naas and think he could be decent. He has the advantage of race fitness over his stablemate and should win.
£250 win Orderofthegarter – 9-4 – 2.20 Leopardstown
I’m on him at 9/4 as well Joni. He looks to have more in his favour here.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

Good luck with Majoris Joni 7/1 is a good price
I have to stick with Law And Order in this one, he was one of my horses to follow last year but not sure how he or Majoris will take to AW just hope they do and one of us gets a winner here…Jac

They won’t see which way Eqtiraan went…..
I can see this horse turning into the new Premio Loco now that Hannon has found a solution and castrated him to calm him down.
Just need to do the same to TAPK eh Jac.

April 8, 2017 at 15:00 #1296088Well done Joni & Steve 9/4 was a great price for Orderofthegarter…
You must be turning a profit already Joni…keep it up
Jac XThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 8, 2017 at 16:41 #1296097Well done with Law and Order Jac. Traveled really well.
Eqtiraan was in with a chance but didn’t quite stay on strong enough.Charles Darwin to conquer the World
April 8, 2017 at 17:08 #1296099Thanks Nathan, Law And Order did it the hard way coming wide on the bend but I was pleased with the way he handled the All Weather track. Good run from Eqtiraan he’ll improve for that run.
Marjoris was disappointing, he definitely didn’t like the AW surface and he didn’t get the best start..one more chance for him on Turf
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 8, 2017 at 23:30 #1296147Just arrived in France after a monster 12 hour trip! But good to catch up with the racing and see Orderofthegarter hose up as I hoped he would. He seems to have lots of natural speed and I liked the way he quickened away from them at the top of the straight. He is not entered in the Guineas which is amazing for THIS yard and tells you how much of a surprise this horse has become. They normally enter anything with 4 legs! I would be massively surprised if they were to supplement him for the Guineas seeing as they already have the 2 favs but I would imagine we will see him in France as he also seems to like a bit of cut. I said all last year that I wasn’t sure there was a genuine miler amongst the Guineas protagonists. I know that sounds daft but I honestly think even Churchill will end up being far better over further. Orderofthegarter DOES look a genuine miler to me and I’ll be interested to see how he goes for the rest of the season. Hoping to see him in a St James’ Palace mid June perhaps……
Jac – nice job with Law and Order!!!!

April 9, 2017 at 09:14 #1296176Thought you would do Majoris yesterday Jac… Hugo Palmer, son of Frankel…. I didn’t really give it much of a chance on form.
I noticed, last year your first losing year, was due to backing Hugo and Frankels off a cliff blind at times. Just though I’d mention it and hope you don’t mind. Maybe something to watch out for because we all get attached to certain horses and it’s a negative a lot of the time. Good luck for the season!
April 9, 2017 at 10:22 #1296193Hope you had nice trip in France Joni any views on Gosden horses mate they not start new season well apart from AW double at Chelmsford maybe they need there 1st runs of the season.
April 9, 2017 at 13:12 #1296225Thanks Theo and Darren. Theo – don’t mind at all mate and you are right, especially with the Frankels. To be honest part of the reason I backed Majoris was because I missed bloody Weekender!! I will try and be more selective this year!! Darren – yes you are right, JG seems to have started slowly but one or two like Jack Hobbs have bucked the trend. It’s a long season so expect to see them come on lots for a run. I always think the first month or so should really be a watching brief anyway.

Hi Theo I know really meant this for Joni but I’m also in that boat of following Frankels off of a cliff last year and on my Frankel Flyers thread I did turn a small profit by backing virtually every single one of them as they ran last year. However, this year I have decided to not continue with the Thread and take off my blinkers as I do like to watch out for talented 2 year olds especialy at Newmarket which is where most of my horses to follow come from as that is my local track and I go as often as I can.
On Saturday it was the fact that one of my horses to follow Law And Order was running that stopped me from backing Majoris, but also I was worried how both horses would take to the All Weather. Thankfully LAO did but I do think Majoris deserves another chance back on turf.
@Joni…great start Joni, you were so confident about Orderofthegarter and he repaid in spades
we are both licking our wounds regarding Weekender but I think it will teach us to keep our eye firmly on the ball from now on with the Frankel progeny..the filly Extra Mile told the story that they are not all going to bolt up first time out and need to learn..also there are so many others yet to come by the end of the season we’ll all be filling out boots with our winnings..LOL Only 9 more sleeps to The Craven Meeting
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 9, 2017 at 15:54 #1296245Joni..Lightening Fast (Frankel-Lightening Pearl) running in the 5.10 at Naas today.
Have had a good look at him and he was unsuccessful in winning his Maiden last season but his best run was at Naas behind Whitecliffsofdover where he fought back to regain 2nd position at the last (no chance with the winner).Today he is up against Diodorus who has some high class entries in the Irish 2000 Guineas and The Derby.
Lightening Fast looks a good each way bet around 11/2 at present and I did notice that his Topspeed is 77 compared to Topspeed 66 Diodorus, that might carry him home today, although I don’t usually go on stats.Don’t want to miss out on another Frankel dotting up so going in each way Lightening Fast 5.10 Naas…hope you have chance to do him
JacWill post this over on the Frankel Rules The World Thread too.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 9, 2017 at 17:37 #1296261I won’t get to see back him Jac but good luck. He looked a little exposed to me last season but hopefully there is improvement in him from 2 to 3.

Just watched the race Joni and he was never really going to win it and then 2 furlongs from home he was seriously squeezed out by the winner who came across his path while making a mad dash for home, could have been nasty and not sure if that would have cost him a place.
To me Lightening Fast seems louth to quicken, I think he has the ability but could be lazy.
Anyway see how he fairs next time but I think I’ll watch this one until he improves. The fav was also unplaced so he had every chance..no excuses really, live and learn
