    I notice Ladbrokes as well as taking advantage of the Rule 4 have also cut the number of places offered from 4 to 3. A very poor show considering the competitive nature of the race.

    Winner could have beaten Witch Hunter whichever way Levey rode but was in the obvious place right out the back

    Fortunately, I backed Point Lynas with William Hill, and although it was subject to a 25p Rule 4, at least I collected on the fourth.

    Quinault went off like a maniac, and hung on pretty well. He did for the other front runners. If he can get an easier lead, possibly over shorter, he still looks up to winning more races. Stiff finish at Ascot probably doesn’t suit.
