We missed that pearl of wisdom👍
Will he be winning top chases??
December 19, 2021 at 14:52 #1573304In each of his hurdles races there was a 200 yards walk towards the 1st flight. Why is that? Is this a new warm-up routine?
December 22, 2021 at 21:30 #1573999All he’s proved so far is that he’s a good bet to win the 1m 2f hurdle at the festival.
December 22, 2021 at 21:49 #1574008Though he will probably never be a value betting proposition in his life, I really like Jonbon.
3m Point winner, has the speed to win a Grade 2 at 2m which devolved into a sprint, and with a yard with a great track record at the Cheltenham Festival.
One thing, though.
If a horse like this misses the Tolworth at Sandown Park because the Supreme is all that matters, what is the actual point of the Sandown Park contest existing in Grade 1 form?

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"December 22, 2021 at 23:29 #157404020/1 Champion Hurdle 2023
Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
December 23, 2021 at 10:57 #1574100Imo Jonbon will go over fences if he wins the Supreme. Nicky’s best ones usually do.
January 11, 2022 at 14:46 #1577516I went to have a couple more quid on the above bet but they have removed it
my thinking is Constitution Hill looks every bit a chaser. Jonbon does to but maybe Henderson will hold him back a year as the owner has a pretty decent Champion Hurdle record.
Constitution Hill is a year younger so maybe they will hold him back
If both going chasing will they both be aimed at the Arkle??Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
January 11, 2022 at 15:22 #1577528Given his brother’s frailties on the injury front, would hurdling simply be the better option for him and will JP want him as his main Champion Hurdle contender over the next 3-4 years (Epatante doesn’t look good enough to regain the title and is 8yrs old now) rather than going down a chasing route, which will mean another year on until he is ready for open company over fences?
January 12, 2022 at 05:44 #1577610More to the point if both turn up who wins ( if you can disregard Sir Gerard ) , I’ll be honest I reckon hill will have to many gears for Jonbon
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
January 12, 2022 at 12:42 #1577643I agree to my eye Hill looks to have too much speed for anything else in this division, hard to say though as Jonbons wins have come in crawls.

We will see all the Jonbon gears in March.
January 16, 2022 at 09:02 #1578299Fully expecting something Irish to grow a spring leg and stuff the pair of them.
BUY THE SUN
January 16, 2022 at 09:13 #1578302A fair few people expect that to happen because of last year’s overall Irish domination but when Henderson has a major bullet or two to fire the result can be different in this particular race.
January 16, 2022 at 09:33 #1578307It would have to be a tremendous performance by an Irish trained horse. We are already half way through January and there is nothing over there that has put up an effort anywhere close to Jonbon or CH. The strong challengers have usually set their stall out by now.
January 16, 2022 at 09:59 #1578311You are potentially comparing chalk with cheese though. Trends might well be out of the window. We thought we were watching good Graded performances in the UK Novice hurdles last season. We weren’t, we were watching the best of the also-rans.
Who is to say that being the best Irish novice hurdler isn’t more than good enough?
BUY THE SUN
January 16, 2022 at 10:23 #1578312It does look like England – or more specifically Nicky Henderson – holds the key to the Supreme this year.
But you oppose the Irish in any race at the Cheltenham Festival nowadays at your absolute peril.
The winner from the Emerald Isle doesn’t need to “emerge” until after the last flight and it wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if the Supreme winner ended up being Irish trained.
Again.

True – but I think it is fair to say Jonbon and Constitution Hill look a cut above Metier.
Sir Gerhard has only won a maiden hurdle.
