He can’t even advertise his own advert
18 likes out of over 3’500 views is poor.If this was the apprentice he’d be sacked in a heartbeat
I reckon I could get more likes from posting a full stop

June 24, 2022 at 16:37 #1603837I think all this tells us a few things we possibly knew already if we stopped to think about it.
1. A big following doesn’t necessarily mean a lot of people are actively interested in you. Many who follow Jenas may have long since lost interest in him but can’t be bothered to unfollow.
2. Of those that are actively interested, his promotion of horse racing engages few. They’re probably aware of what racing has to offer anyway and simply aren’t interested.
Having slept on it, I think the “Great £1.6 Million Free Bets Giveaway” should be constructed thus.
All racecourses should have big screen photos of Jenas and GT displayed at the entrance.
Anyone who sees either of them once inside the track must go up to them and say: “You were never much use to the Toon Army (remark equally applies to both of them) I claim my £1 free bet.”
Jenas and GT then have to hand over the £1 free bet voucher without using the words: “One, Show, or Timeform.”

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"June 24, 2022 at 16:43 #1603838Seriously, how many non white female jockeys are there?
Tokenistic, box ticking but absolutely detached from reality.
The whole thing looks like something which has been made and then approved by several committees with equality and diversity as their only terms of reference.
Perish the thought of making a video that shows people looking at the horses in the paddock, placing a bet with a bookmaker, watching it win, collecting the winnings and then buying a round of drinks. Must not upset the New Puritans!
June 24, 2022 at 17:03 #1603843If everyone listened to you moaners nobody would go racing.
Value Is EverythingJune 24, 2022 at 17:07 #1603844No mention of the wonderful shiny new “racing league” with teams
I’m sure that would have added at least another 2 likesGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
June 24, 2022 at 17:19 #1603848I reckon Nathan should resurrect the old TRF Members’ day out on Lockinge Day. Then we could show new racegoers how to really enjoy themselves.
June 24, 2022 at 17:19 #1603849What have we said that is wrong, Ginger?
I think what I described is a more accurate account of the appeal of racing than anything in that achingly right on but trying desperately not to offend and tick all the right boxes video.
And it has been pointed out that the video has a grand total of 1 like on YouTube and a minimum volume of likes and retweets on Twitter. Platforms that have millions of viewers daily.
Face it, the whole concept is wrong and by trying to be inclusive it ends up missing the target by miles.
June 24, 2022 at 17:23 #1603850Perhaps they need to attract more moaners to the sport, it goes hand in hand
its a hard game to make pay in the long run for the majority of punters
Any young potential new comer to sport will soon turn into a moaner at sight of the “great food”
most non horse racing people think the game is fixed and/or cruel to the animal
nobody new understands the percentage of odds, they think a favourite must win whatever the odds
The people they are trying to attract usually have their own interests and hobbies at that age
How many people “horse racing fans” developed the interest in the sport when young (school age) and watching the Grand National when the parents put a pound or two on selections out the paper for them? a fair few, I’d guess
promoting a day at the races is fine, I think most courses have a decent turn out anyway. The cost of living at the moment would be a big negative and understandable dip in attendance at the momentGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
June 24, 2022 at 17:26 #1603851Nice how the real stars of racing – the horses – are only seen in the distance.

I’ll put a post up on twitter in a bit, reckon I’d get 18 likes before the next summer solstice

June 24, 2022 at 17:35 #1603855They could use that advert for anything
“can you see yourself at the cricket”
“non white female cricket player can”
“dress up, dress down”
“great food”
“you love the outdoors”
“hearing the crowd roar”blah, blah, blah
