The way they carry on, I thought Weaver was the (un)lucky man.

I’ve never got what the fuss is about her. Nice enough I’m sure but that’s it

What are ITV do again with their scheduling? Yesterdays racing failed to record, series links have been fine for months. I missed all my racing, my can’t they get it right? I have to record so I can avoid Chapman……otherwise I might watch it live!

It’s free to watch on the ITV Hub

Crepello1957 my scheduled recording actually recorded. It has failed in the past, not for a while though.

Glad you have reminded me I keep forgetting to check it each week, which I guess defeats the object of setting a series record.

I think he was at the Breeders Cup Saturday so he wasn’t on.

It was great last weekend, jump racing and no Matt Chapman on ITV, and elsewhere Derek Thompson (Ayr) and Mike Cattermole (Newmarket) were the on course commentators. Quite brought me back to the better days of racing, though doubt I’ll get much support for the latter

I can’t stand Thompson as a commentator : sucking air through his teeth, poor awareness, several platitudes that he falls back on, a three length victory is “ one for the judge “ etc

Cattermole is unreliable in his identification of horses. Thompson’s worst habit is, instead of commentating on what actually unfolds, constantly previewing the forthcoming action during a race: “Now, let’s see how they jump this one”.

What pillock thought that having Chapman as Santa with three children would be a good idea?

    Simply excruciating.

Has Mick Fitzgerald finally lost his marbles? According to his research Might Bite spent three hundredth of a second longer jumping at Haydock than at Kempton in the King George while Thistlecrack took seven hundredths of a second longer. That works out to a 3 lengths difference according to Mick.

What sort of timing equipment has he got and did he press it at the right time, at every fence?

Oli Bell actually thought it was good work.

Never ceased to be amazed at some of the crap they come up with on these racing programmes.

Simon Rowlands used video-editing software to measured the “hang time” between a horse’s hind legs leaving the ground on the approach side of the fence and its forelegs touching down on the other and reported the results in his Sectional Spotlight column on the At The Races site, to attempt to test trainer Nicky Henderson’s assertion that the gelding was “in panic mode” and spending “too much time in the air”. I think that is where Mick Fitzgerald got the idea.

Not often I do but…..I did find Matt Chapman’s reporting back on his visit to Nicky Henderson’s yard at Seven Barrows interesting and he did warn punters away from backing Top Notch saying that he would definitely need this first run. :good:
Would like more in depth reports back from notable yards.

Gladiateur I’ve got to completely agree with you on this.

Set it up to record the racing on ITV4 in the morning as I’m working when it’s on. Watched it in the evening to see how the racing did.

However when it came to Mike Chapman playing Santa with three children, who when I was their age would have no interest in Racing whatsoever, well all I can say is what was ITV thinking of, and why did their parents allow it. With all that appeared in the main stream press about children I was shocked. :negative:

You've got to accentuate the positive.
    Eliminate the negative.
    Latch on to the affirmative.
Don't mess with mister in between.

What’s with the “music” while Chamberlin is introducing the runners and riders for the Finale Junior Hurdle?

I’ve not been watching ITV racing much; is this a new innovation or a one-off? Hopefully the latter…

Had to laugh at Chapman complaining about people mocking him for his ante post each way recommendation of Samcro for the Champion Hurdle.

Anyone who backs each way ante post without the knowledge that the horse will definitely run or gets the bet “with a run” is a screw loose.

Will he have put his money where his mouth is though?
Unlikely in my opinion, all bluster but no substance.
