Shocked to see Zonderland listed here. Last seen running a good, and rather unlucky, second to Limato in October. Lovely looking horse. Anyone know what happened to him?

Regarding Zonderland, I was there that day when he ran 2nd to Limato and all looked well.
Looked on the Cheveley Park website and noticed that he is not back in training with Clive Cox for 2019 and that rings alarm bells so I have dropped them an email to enquire about him. Will report back but it seems he might have suffered an injury at home or the dreaded colic
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...Zonderland was sold at the end of Oct Triptych. Bought by Irish trainer Luke Comer (hence his appearance on this list). You’d likely be right about his fate though. Very sad, whatever the actual cause.
I’m surprised and disappointed that an establishment such as Cheveley Park would let any of their horses go to that particular yard considering the bad press it has received over the past years Tonge.
I guess Cheveley Park won’t reply to my email as Zonderland is no longer with them and feel a bit sick to my stomach that this has happened considering the talent he showed last year.

Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...Almost certain now that we have lost Zonderland.
I sent an email to the Racing Post to see if they could throw any light on the subject and received an email back to say that, on this inforomation, they had now updated Zonderland’s profile and although their team are investigating the circumstances they have no reason to doubt the HRI ListIn a few days will give Zonderland a separate Memorial, if RP team report back may possibly know how sadly he met his untimely end.
Also noted that the young mare De La Vega has also died after running her last race in October, she was only 5 years of age.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...Poor Clinton Hill. It was a horrible fall and I thought I’d heard some-one say later that he’d died. I didn’t see it reported anywhere so hoped I’d mis-heard. Sadly not.
