I was reading differnt reports on Twist Magic’s performance and came across an artical saying he had drifted from 6.0 to 25.0.

I’m very old fashioned and just bet my fancies in the usual way, so I have no idea how this works :?

Say you had 10 pounds on TM what would the return be at 25.0?

25.0 is decimal so £10 at 25.0 the return would be £250.

It’s effectively 24/1. It depends how much was available for that price though – I doubt you’d be able to get much more than a tenner on at the odds. The real price (ie. what you could get £400+ on at) was probably more around the 9.0 or 10.0 mark.

Forgive me if I have lost the plot here but that looks like normal betting but you lose your stake.? 25.0 = 24/1

I must be wrong or they are offering around 4/6 Denman and 13/8 Kauto for the gold cup? Surely not

Denman was 28/13 and Kauto 45/17 the last time I looked……….where am I going wrong?

Looks like someone has converted the decimal odds on Betfair into fractional odds in the example you’ve given.

Latest Betfair "to back" odds are: 3.15 Denman (about 85/40) and 3.65 Kauto Star (between 5/2 and 11/4).

You can lay Denman at 3.2 (just short of 9/4) and Kauto Star at 3.75 (11/4).

You pay a commission of up to 5% on net winnings on a market.

stick to having your 4 and 5 grand bets with Ladbrokes mate, this stuff is far too complicated. :D

Must be frustrating to ‘know’ Denman is the ‘wrong’ price and not have the nous or wherewithal to take advantage.

I here what you’re saying and if I was in the Uk I would be taking your advice. That would do my head in

I understand it now thanks to our frined, I was looking at the AP which they have converted for dummies like me :?

The reason I was asking is someone suggested my friend/bookie is laying of my bets with Betfair and making a few quid of me. He laid me very high odds on Kauto for the KG GC double and in singles……….anyway the beggar wouldn’t tell me is he is and I’m happy anyway. Just curious.
