Bet Banbridge in this last year, and great effort before unseating at the last. Looks tougher this year, and ground/forecast not kind, but I’ve started off at 10’s, and just got the feeling I’ll be able to get bigger

    Final Decs

Sunday morning top up at 25’s, tells its own story

This is a very decent race on paper. It’s more than just a very competitive G2, a lot closer to a G1. I backed Energumene at 9/2 and had a saver on Banbridge at 10/1. Fav is way too short and not always foot perfect. Found A Fifty might not be quite in their class. If the prices are right I might reverse Banbridge and Energumene in a F/C.

This heavy ground should be too testing for Banbridge. Not sure why he’s even running.

Majborough is the new El Fabiolo. Should be sent back hurdling before he’s ruined also.

Well done Kris, well deserved, you can’t afford to swing wildly left and jump craply against a good race fit horse. I know Mullins doesn’t normally worry about a horse with a marked preference to adjusting in one direction and being in front exaggerates it, but that’s shades of Yorkhill to me. I don’t like horses which go so far in one direction especially when there is no need for it, you can’t train it out of them, they do it worse under pressure and I do wonder about forelimb soundness when I see that

Majborough is not going to win anything in open company jumping that poorly. He looks like a really difficult ride.

Banbridge should be spot on for Kempton. ;-)

You think that was a good prep for the King George HDLG?

“Majborough is the new El Fabiolo. Should be sent back hurdling before he’s ruined also.”

Longer trips and slower tempos and we will likely see the real Majborough.

Majborough is probably better suited to the Ryanair but McManus already has the winner of that race. He wants a Champion Chase horse because it is one of the few races at the Cheltenham Festival he has not won.

It was fine , I don’t think he’ll win though , it wasn’t a vintage KG last year ( the form hasn’t worked out ) and he’ll do well to get placed this year if the horses at the top of the market turn up
