There are any number of these that won’t last home in the soft ground including last year’s winner, Northern Alliance. Interesting that Ruby has jumped ship on that one to ride
Deutschland
, a horse who’s always looked a stayer, and this is the kind of prize WM would take the wraps off for.
No problem at all with the going, and ran a blinder on his recent flat outing; can’t see the 16/1 lasting very long at all. What soft ground?
Good, good to yielding in places, perfect jumping ground, if a bit chewed up around the home bend.September 15, 2010 at 10:18 #317602Nedzers Return & Golden Kite pour moi, might take a while to get the national hunt eye in though

Golden Kite 12/1 and Fosters Cross 25/1, both each-way and level stakes as always.
Mossbank is the quality animal but it’s too big of a leap of faith for me.
September 15, 2010 at 10:53 #317609I was hoping that Swift Counsel would get into the race, but hasn’t happened. My computers so slow at the moment I can’t be bothered to look at the runners properly as I feel as if I’m pulling my brain out with a pair of tweezers, but the safest bet would be Will Jamie Run, whilst worrying about Nedzers Return and bloomin Deutschland [and a few others; well, most of the others..good little race, may go to the bookies to watch it].

You may well be right though, which would put a lot of horses in I had dismissed. C’est la vie!September 15, 2010 at 13:01 #317626The Flat course is riding a good bit slower. Not sure about the NH times but visually the ground is fine- could be that the quality of NH animal on show so far is weak?
September 15, 2010 at 13:14 #317627Swift Counsel gets in and I’m off to the bookies…[will try not to back Deutschland when I’m there…]
September 15, 2010 at 13:20 #317628Mossbank has been taken out by Hourigan

September 15, 2010 at 14:57 #317648I was all for Dancing Tornado and Northern Alliance to battle it out but now Swift Counsel is running…..
– he’s a major trends horse as was Northern Alliance last year…..September 15, 2010 at 15:09 #317650

Thanks for that, Imp – seems like Ruby dismisses quite a few himself.
