Had an e/w bet on Swamp Fox for this @ 40’s
Never been out of the first 3 in 14 races to date. Hopefully he could be one for Cheltenham this year if he keeps progressing.
October 27, 2016 at 23:01 #1268910No way Botchy, it’s Swamp Fox for me too………..I will apologise profusely if this is another Louis. I don’t think I’ll have to apologise though, as he has a massive chance as far as I’m concerned, and if he doesn’t win this, then he’s already on the shortlist for The County. 40’s was too big.
I’ve also went with All Set To Go at 25’s, from the Paul Nicholls yard. Like Swamp Fox, I think he is (slowly) progressive, and I’d like to recoup some of my money on him from The Cesarewitch.
Others who catch the eye are…….
Winter Escape 12’s
Zubayr 16’s
Ch’Tibello 16’s
Diego Du Charmil 16’s
Romain De Senam 20’s
Stenrubin 25’s
John Constable 40’sA lot of these are engaged in the big handicap hurdle at Ascot on Saturday, that should give us a few clues.
At this moment in time I’m trying my hardest not to bet Romain De Senam who would have won at Cheltenham for me at a huge price, but for an awful ride, and also Sternrubin, who quickly became one of my favourites last season, he’s a cracking little horse. Both of them are too big.
October 27, 2016 at 23:09 #1268913Bobby, I hear John Constable looks a picture at the moment. He should be in the frame :)
October 27, 2016 at 23:15 #1268915Joe, I’m just happy that I actually get that one lol

Perhaps Tryptych might have a say in that Joe

Well that 40’s never lasted long VTC We should be called the market movers
Entered in the November H’cap @ Leopardstown on Saturday, so hopefully we will have an idea after that
October 28, 2016 at 10:29 #1268950i have to go with WINTER ESCAPE as a real improving 5 year old. the form of his races are working out really well. and the way alan kings horses have started the season is second to none. so he will do for me
October 28, 2016 at 10:51 #1268952First look I would be interested in the first two from the Fred Winter last year.
Both Nicholls horses and closer to the time I will look deeper but initially my picks would be DIEGO DI CHARMIL and ROMAIN DE SENAM.

Sternrubin a possible for me Bobby. He had a bloody hard race in the Ladbroke last year which I don’t think he totally recovered from, despite running a good 3rd in the County. Hopefully the break will have done him good.
October 28, 2016 at 18:13 #1269036Fingers crossed for him Homer, I really hope the break does him good. If it has he could just surprise a few people this year.
October 30, 2016 at 09:35 #1269430Sternrubin does not know when to give in. Another hard race. Will he recover in time to put up a good performance in the Greatwood?

Nice one, Graham :)

Spot on. Homer. Tough as they come, but couldn’t back him next time after that.

I’m glad someone got that Joe, bit more obscure than my usual ramblings I admit
October 31, 2016 at 13:02 #1269725I gone with MODUS 14/1 has form at track was 2nd behind Moon Racer in bumper.Ran ok at Ascot at weekend as well.
October 31, 2016 at 18:04 #1269818I’ve backed Modus too. Very eye catching run at Ascot which suggested to me he might fly up the hill if in touch at Cheltenham. He was well backed too at Ascot along with stable mate which suggests they think he’s definitely well handicapped.
