In the current absence of a merge function on here, thought it might be worthwhile keeping a list of future races, which already have a thread, and aren’t on Page One.
Will save any duplication, and save me getting abuse (hopefully) when I delete the new one.
I’ll keep this up to date regularly, as Page One changes.
July 9, 2023 at 20:32 #1654916This is a really useful thread because, really, truly, honestly, I never deliberately duplicate a thread – worst I’m ever guilty of is being a bit lazy and not wanting to keep scrolling back looking to see if a thread already exists.
I also try to follow the what I perceive to be excellent naming convention of not using sponsors names unless vital to identify the race and adding the year as the suffix to differentiate it from previous renewals.
It takes me back to my old newspaper production days and is a bugbear of mine – for example, the name of the big race at York in August is the International Stakes, Juddmonte are merely the sponsor.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"July 11, 2023 at 00:51 #1655001Yeah, thought it worth a go, though I never thought for a minute that anyone started the duplicates on purpose.
In fact I deliberately waited to do this when there hadn’t been any for a good few weeks, so it didn’t look as if it was a reaction to someone doing it.
Just trying to keep things tidy, and avoid having to offend when I have to hit delete.
July 15, 2025 at 06:55 #1736224Well said, VTC.
Aftertiming and, in some cases, “after pricing”, are both seriously irritating.
July 15, 2025 at 08:46 #1736226Could “claiming to cash out on non runners backed at non existent antepost prices” be added to the list as well?
July 18, 2025 at 00:16 #1736317Cheers guys, it’s a constant battle, and constantly looking to improve things I promise.
October 12, 2025 at 12:15 #1741893sorry VTC i was guilty of the 12s in fillies mile forgot say it it could be proofed on the bets and lays thread
I do apologiseOctober 12, 2025 at 12:45 #1741899Nothing wrong with that at all N, if you have it on another thread, get your 12’s up for the fillies and mares. I do it all the time with Nothing Gained, put my bets on there, and then update or edit the big race thread at my leisure. Get that bet up on the thread, and I’ll stick £2 on whatever the horse is myself lol

Page Two
1000 Guineas
Minster Stakes
Ascot Gold Cup
King George Kempton
Cheltenham Gold Cup
Grand NationalJust a reminder/heads up, as per the recent Forum Changes threads, we’ll keep this section for threads dedicated to Big Races only
***Also can we PLEASE, PLEASE, pretty PLEASE, stop putting up Prices that are long gone.
For example, Antepost Prices put up conveniently once Final Decs have been confirmed.
Also, can we stop coming on to a thread and saying you backed the winner, when you had every opportunity to come on to the thread and say you’d backed it beforehand
I’m getting “bombarded” with complaints, and getting tired of it.
Nearly two years I’ve been asking, and if anything it’s getting worse. Posts will be getting deleted or amended if it continues
Any threads for Meetings, Undercards, Races which are Class 4 and below, related markets etc, will move automatically to the Betting Forum below. Exception currently made for Punchestown Festival.
Any Duplicate threads are a “straight delete” now too, even if the duplicate thread has several replies. There were five last month
April 21, 2026 at 12:16 #1764441Friendly, gentle reminder that this thread exists, though don’t know why I bother
