I think Or Jaune De Somoza at 33s e/w (6 places) is difficult to ignore. Putting a lot of faith in Gordon to have eeked some improvement as the horse’s form is missing a standout performance. But his last race was his best and this just may have been a target. Even if not, the good ground might bring out some improvement.
Negatives are that he often needs encouragement during a race and put in a jumping mistake or two. Hasn’t finished his races strongly but again his last race was slightly more encouraging in this regard.
Some encouragement from Denise Foster – “We haven’t seen the best of him yet“.
Bun Doran was second here in 2019 and might be another who could be value at 33/1. Dropped 10lbs which may always have been the plan as I don’t think horse or trainer liked racing off 160. Genuine concern that the horse isn’t what it used to be – and I find that big races like the Queen Mother can often turn a horse off racing. But the price is fair and a return to form would be no shock.
Not big stakes on either and both e/w. Plenty in it with good claims. Best of luck with yours.
