Dunno. Here’s what his son said- it’s worth a listen. Ted snr. is tough and outspoken, and was hard on horses in races during his riding days, but all the same I bet that household was one where you fettled the horses before you got yourself warmed and fed and didn’t muck about making fools of them and yourself.

Also- I have come back to live on the farm in the backside of nowhere in Northern Ireland where I was brought up. If my siblings and I had clowned about with anything like that- a downer cow, a dead cull ewe, a half dead myxy rabbit we found- our parents would have gone through us for a shortcut. We were taught very sharply not to tease or mistreat a live animal and not make a fool of an animal live or dead. My friends were the same. This distasteful carry on isn’t just an Irish culchie thing- most of us Irish culchies are pretty appalled at it. Of course there are ignorant oafs here as everywhere else but it is certainly not the norm.

I come from the last generation that actually killed what we ate, and I remember slaughtering day, usually in September, after the fat of summer, as a sombre day, not the day for high spirits; the animals were making the ultimate sacrifice for us and we fulfilled our side of the contract by killing them with solemn efficiency and always with respect.

ham, i’ve seen on twitter and the old betfair forum people mentioning – and this is all complete rumour at present – a video involving Labaik and a cattle prod. But must stress this is just rumour with no evidence!!!
So glad I don’t do social media any more, sounds quite menacing that someone can threaten to release incriminating videos/photos.
Has Kate Harrington made any sort of statement as surely it can’t be her.

Has someone been so aggrieved over something that they have been planning this for years?Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...Triptych – If the accusations are true from this account, then I’d say it could be as broad as anyone. I think losing money on obviously bent races could be enough to make someone release this kind of stuff, just to get back at the sport.
Yeah agree ben, KH woukdnt take it to this point im absolutely certain jac, i briefly read some of the tweets, shed be risking her career as much as GE at this point with a twitter account,as in one way or another it could/would have implications that track back to her own families operation.
Im hoping these accusations from now on are just hear say, thats what the twitter accoubt seems to be, they never released anything on that as far as i can see,
Id be getting more worried than i was previously though as a whole.
I think everyone should collectively put as much effort into getting these twitter accounts taken down as they have into hammering GE. Would be beneficial for racing as a whole.
