De Bromhead fully deserves Envoi Allen and some more as well. He can handle them pretty good throughout many years..
March 2, 2021 at 14:06 #1526586Probably unfairly, but my first thought when thinking of HDB training is constantly running Sizing John over 2m.

March 2, 2021 at 14:10 #1526587Mike Skelton is going to be the top man soon enough , anyone can see that , Henderson is 70 and won’t be around for ever , the point I’m making is surely the big owners are going to come to him sooner or later
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
March 2, 2021 at 14:11 #1526588I’m glad Jack keeps the envoi ride

March 2, 2021 at 14:29 #1526595I notice a Godolphin runner 2nd in the 2.20 at Chantilly; business as usual then for the big names, no comments from ATR
March 2, 2021 at 14:36 #1526598befair although I agree with what you are saying
I think Ginge has already said the difference between the two casesGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
March 2, 2021 at 14:44 #1526599The Elliott case involves the mistreatment of horses(it doesn’t matter that they were dead) who take part in horse racing, therefore it is a racing matter.
The Sheikh Mo kidnapping has no connection to racing other than the fact he is a high profile owner.
March 2, 2021 at 14:49 #1526600I agree with what you are saying ie Godolphin
but my view on Elliott is I hope they throw the book at himGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
March 2, 2021 at 14:55 #1526602I believe Gordon is 43 today. Happy birthday and many happy returns.
I`ve never taken to him, believe he has mired racing very badly but I think he is being over vilified.
I wouldn’t dispute it’s very bad and he deserves a ban.
I suspect this stems from having an overly large string of horses and knowing losing a few isn’t going to check his momentum. No doubt some outrageous craic with the lads.Perhaps you just don’t care as much as you should when you ran an operation this big.I should think there are plenty of worse atrocities in racing.Whether he deserves any future in it is a moot point but a ban and removal of leading horses seems enough to me.
March 2, 2021 at 15:01 #1526603Agree with Patriot. No relation at all
Rather pathetic to see online (not here) loads of excuse making for him. Gone from Photoshopped blah blah sheik mohammed whatabout whatabout to donttheyunderstandpooroppressedirishcountrytypes with lashings of paranoia laced with “far worse happens everywhere else but no I don’t have any examples”
You sense its all about who it is and same people would be screaming if it had been Paul Nichols
March 2, 2021 at 15:08 #1526605Little sympathy for him, and his apology/non-apology made it worse. Not just an isolated incident, I suspect; more likely a pattern of behaviour, just that this one was caught on camera.
That being said, losing his livelihood is too heavy a price to payMarch 2, 2021 at 16:15 #1526621HDLG you had said that surely Skelton has earned the right to such horses and it was an opportunity missed. That is what I replied to. What he will get ‘soon enough’ or ‘sooner or later’ is another point which is fair enough.
March 2, 2021 at 16:25 #1526627The point I’m making is there was a chance to give him one now and it was missed , de bromhead is a fine trainer I’m not doubting that but Skelton could be a commanding figure for the next 30 years …he,s only 28
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
March 2, 2021 at 16:32 #1526628Thought he was 36?
“Could be” is the view
Top horses are in ireland, youd be mad to bring them to britain.
March 2, 2021 at 16:36 #1526629Laughable suggesting them going to Seven Barrows like. Maybe they actually like their horses to run now and again outside of Cheltenham.

March 2, 2021 at 17:05 #1526633Hmm, Clive, it wouldn’t be one particular nine-year-old Facebook page, would it? A hive of chippiness and whataboutery, mixed in with a dose of one-sided Irish nationalism, that one.
BlueSky @pghenn.bsky.social
So don't run, just like the others always do
March 2, 2021 at 17:41 #1526643Why is U.K. racing being dragged into the horse welfare scandal. At the end of the day it seems mainly an Irish problem, so why is British racing being brought down. If it was France with a problem, no one over here would be trying to bring down British racing with it
