Craig I am sorry to labour this point
but that uncoothness of yours can be cured
with two quick weeks sitting tme
at any blackballing gentlemans club worth its salt
in the capital…
and, I can personally recommend one at St James’s;
Large leather cushioned high backed armchairs
but you mustn’t stare at the east european girls
when they bring in your coffee,
however if they catch your glance in the mirror as
they adjust their apron whilst departing,
that dear Craig
is the sign of a gentleman !Actually, I do belong to a blackballing Gentlemans Club right here in Charleston, WV. Though serious gins are more my thing than coffee. Not many East European girls here, though.
Are you taking a long journey, my friend?
January 7, 2009 at 22:11 #202319No Craig, sorry ol’ chap
but you’re totally missing the point.
Mrs Braddick sleeps alone at the Sheraton
while you nipper whats left of the night
in the forgiving blue and white striped linen at the Lanesborough.Your Butler will drive you at 10 am with flowers
for your dearest darling tied with american lace
in a presentation box sat on deep leather
tucked againt the arm rest in the back of the wild rover. The only small prob is your face
you’ll have to put it two hours forward
when you spring out of the car.
Have you not heard that song
Sherrry she ee rr y bay bee,
sure to get you in the right mood.I have obviously spent too long in America as I have no clue what you are saying. Here we start conjugal rites with the phrase: "do you wanna F@#$"
SOK mate he’s escaped again””.the men with the white coats should be along shortly
January 7, 2009 at 22:37 #202327SOK I believe means its ok

Craig I must say you seem well attached,
and the Charleston club sounds extremely buzzy.
I drink the odd bottle of gin myself
but am more often than not
found on the toilet
downing a secret krone. Some of the clubs here are extremely hard to get in
Whites has a ten year wait and
and some unfortunates have even
skewered their assets
on the fine iron railings
in their steadfast effort
to beat the queue,
and when you finally get in
you’ll trip up on the odd royal. You’re on the club circuit already
and with my intro you’ll get in most places
bar Whites.
A good address is essential
and a permanent hotel suite
or rooms at the Aetheneum
would do nicely.
We do fishing and shootin out here
and its essential to know when
salmon is in season,
that sort of thing that would get
the black ball rolling if you slipped up
You might need a second reference
The whiskery wicker man Fist might do it for you.As for my journey
ten years long
sat on the wrong horses
but usually get there in the end.Life is a battle
oh don’t use that one,
its special to moi
in clubland.HAPPY DAYS.
p.s. Glenn, no fear, I have no access to your account, it was a gentleman’s lucky guess.
January 7, 2009 at 22:53 #202334I could get him into Narcissus or Q-Bar in Bangkok but he would be a certainty to miss the first at Fontwell.
January 7, 2009 at 22:59 #202336Whether it is Mr Fist or Mr Fury
Braddick get yourself a better referee
that man has underground connections
and mentioned the word barJanuary 7, 2009 at 23:38 #202358Connections? Not doing me any good! last night I walked into a bar and came out with my head covered in blood………it was an Iron bar

Old ones are the best

I went to Bangkok (I have family from there) when I was Eighteen for an interesting and physically and culturally enlightening holiday with two of my Uncles.

January 8, 2009 at 00:42 #202376Take her to Sandown in April on Gold Cup Day as you can see potenital Classic winners and top National Hunt racing.
Or in May you can spend a Wednesday at York for the Musidora then get an evening train after into London, Spend the night in the capital then Thursday evening go to Folkestone for United Hunts Evening where you will probably bump into GC and you could ask Mark Johnson or Iain Mackenzie if you commentate on the 3m7f Hunter Chase.

Ever get the feeling you’re being watched?

Yeah, the United Hunts meeting makes for a fantastic night out. Hunter chases all the way, nothing else. Meeting confirmed as taking place on May 14th this year.

January 8, 2009 at 04:28 #202446For a days PtoP I think I would forego the restuarant. Hackwood Park sounds good and a chance to take Robin out for a meal somewhere afterwards, of course!
Craig
Noted! The course is situated just outside of Basingstoke – not a place of beauty, but I’m sure there are some decent eateries in the locality. I’d recommend Chateau Diane Avis.

Hackwood is vastly, vastly improved on what it was even five years ago (which broadly speaking was Cartmel, with less of the charm), though if you have any means of getting off the ground (i.e. standing on your car roof) they’d come in handy, as the infield is packed with stalls, funfair rides, etc. which impede the view somewhat. Robin has a hydraulic scaffoldy hoisty thing from which he commentates, and I’m usually race-reading on the judge’s truck. Elevated positions are a bit thin on the ground otherwise.
Admission prices will be confirmed nearer the time, but last year it was £20 per car. Dates are already inked in, though;
Sunday March 29th
BH Monday April 13th
BH Monday May 4thHTH,

January 8, 2009 at 04:51 #202455I’m going to have give Towcester a shout. Free to get in, you can stand right next to the fences, see most of the track and a relaxed dress code. Just don’t go easter sunday if you want to avoid the crowds (They charge a whole ten pounds that day as well).
January 8, 2009 at 11:59 #202467You cannot stand right by fences at Wincanton but you can at Fontwell.
Phill Bell is the general manger there and if you contact him and explain your position I am sure he will go out of his way to make your visit enjoyable.
There are some very nice pubs that serve nice food very close to the track try the Donnington Arms for example which is a mile or so away.
You could also think about the meeting at military meeting at Sandown where officers dressed for the occasion even carrying swords are a regular sight. That would give your Army girl someone to talk to if your too involved in the racing!
(pm you)
January 9, 2009 at 00:47 #202596No – you can stand right next to the fences at Wincanton by crossing to the infield – I would recommend the second last. Stood there to watch Edredon Bleu a few years ago and watched the Badger Beer there this year. Also, in the cheap enclosure, you are right next to the final hurdle.
January 9, 2009 at 01:21 #202600Are you the same Craig Biddick who writes poetry in the Deep South forum or the rich-looking Craig Biddick pictured here http://www.ranchandcoast.com/october200 … rings.html
??
I only ask because I was wondering how coming over here next winter would fit in with your possible new career, Craig? If you get that new job you’re after will that just be seasonal?January 9, 2009 at 01:47 #202607Are you the same Craig Biddick who writes poetry in the Deep South forum or the rich-looking Craig Biddick pictured here http://www.ranchandcoast.com/october200 … rings.html
