Hmmm Going is a concern for Midi and could be a non-runner, but is probably much better than his mark. Temple Church has the soft ground form but has an inconsistent profile…

Nice one GT
October 14, 2018 at 17:23 #1377354Don’t forget Midi too, 1-2-3-4-5 LOL.
Thanks, Mtoto.
Thought had a chance of the 40+/1 shot Cayirli for a mo’. Loomed up two out. That one has soft ground form if going back far enough. Now Children ran a then career best despite given too much to do last time out and glad to see him mid-field early. Should run well in the November Handicap. Second, Wolf Country ran poorly last time out but that was on much firmer ground, goes well with plenty of cut and has a fine record fresh – first run since May. Thought Hayley gave up too soon on Seafarer. Then made up a hell of a lot of ground late on “not knocked about”. Having said that, it was against dog tired horses so what the run is worth isn’t easy to assess. Had to have a few quid on Midi, spent a long spell going to work in the Bedford. Took half a saver @ 5/1 I thought just before the off; promptly doubling in price on the machine in the final 5 minutes of trading! Never travelling, Sir Henry thought dam Midday better on faster than this (never ran on soft/heavy). Should’ve left Midi alone today, may do better next year away from a soft surface although I see he has had a wind op. Temple Church the only one to really disappoint; as I said earlier – “inconsistent”; only putting it all in when wanting to. May have a squiggle against his name next time.
So sad about Dubawi Prince and hope Andrea is OK.

October 17, 2018 at 10:44 #1377603I’ll be looking at the Bath race soon, Mtoto; catching up with one or two Champion’s Day races.
