Would have done the Ebor had there been time, Mtoto; but had a great day out at Goodwood. Working out the value in a 20 runner handicap often takes just as long as three 8 to 10 runner Group races. It’s a race I love but – in contrast to the Stewards Cup – rarely had the Ebor winner over the years.

Had a disappointing couple of weeks, well; got off to a good enough start at Salisbury before four losing days on the trot. Two at Newbury followed by Wednesday and Thursday of York. Seem to have turned the corner now though, Friday and Saturday both profitable.

When the change in going happens will probably lessen stakes and/or have fewer bets.

Although Laugh Aloud has very good form it is now disconcerting she is yet to be backed. Indeed her owner-mate is currently the one for money against the favourite. This suggests to me she’s not fully fit on belated reaopearance so have laid her back @ 4.8/1. Can always back her back if money comes in the morning.
