Favourite is a likable sort, might improve and Nicholls is in cracking form, but is very short on what Black Corton has done. Double Shuffle is flattered by getting so close to Might Bite in the King George, but the rest of his form gives him a good chance anyway. More consistent right-handed but his best left-handed starts have been first time out (good record fresh) and from an in form trainer. Vigilio goes well on fast ground and was a promising novice before physical problems. Three starts since wind surgery has seen a resurgence. Fell in the Grand National before progressive form to win a couple of good handicaps. More improvement can be expected if all’s still well (bit wobbly after last start).

I’ve been hanging back Istabraq, because of the ground conditions and forecast. Wincanton currently on a sound surface but now with plenty of rain am taking a chance it’ll drastically change things.

This season has loads going for it.
So many good horses and mouth watering match ups.Samcro’s reappearance was obviously a little disappointing, Mtoto; but was quite a bit harder task than betting suggested. On strict form terms it wasn’t far behind his best. Needs to prove he has what it takes for a Champion Hurdle though. If his next run isn’t better there might be a chance they’ll head for the Stayers Hurdle instead. That said, still has bags of potential and wouldn’t put anyone off taking the 9/2 for the Champion.
Thought Verdana Blue was impressive today. Can’t see her running in the Mares Hurdle as speed is her asset. Been kept to sharp tracks too, so maybe Cheltenham won’t suit. But am surprised 25/1 is available for the Champion. If hadn’t backed BDA and S might have taken a chance with the mare.
Don’t know why We Have A Dream is not quoted in the Stayers Hurdle market?
Present Man winning and Verdana Blue partial saver made a small profit for me today. Will do a full update before Cheltenham.
