    Philomene for me 3/1

Mother earth won a substandard race and fabre could have a good one on his hands here, not sure a mile will be her ideal trip but if classy enough she will beat these anyway.

The lads race looks a minefield to me and no bet atm but if the ground looks testing then sealiway becomes interesting. Id be confident on SMB but after Wembley flopping not so much anymore. :good:

I’ve had a token bet on my TTF horse Mother Earth, the Guineas wasn’t a great race but she looks straightforward and won it well.

Looks like the usual Longchamp bog. Lullaby Moon appeals e/way at 10/1, 4 places. Will handle the ground, but stamina doubt on pedigree = caution.

I have an invested interest in Philomene further down the line so will watch to see how she gets on over this sharper test trip wise.

That was a hard watch as an SMB backer for our guineas

    Won very easily

He got sealiway nicely positioned just not good enough

He might have won very easily but they either went slowly and sprinted home or he’s not all that, the girls were 0.87 seconds quicker and that looked an average race at first glance.

In fact I don’t know how accurate the tracking segments on France Gallop are but if they are to be believed not only was SMB slower than Coeursamba and indeed the first 8 home in the fillies race, his closing sectionals were actually slower than Couersamba

So basically if that is true not only was he slower than her but he was slower in the finish off a slower gallop than she faced.

This looks like a pretty awful crop of 3yo fillies and colts tbh

Not seen anything yet that would get remotely close to a love, tarnawa or palace pier at the back end of the season

Maybe the derby/oaks/jockey club/Diane will throw something up

Too early to tell how good or bad the 3yo olds are. Love and Tarnawa are very good but ground dependent. No hope on soft ground in the autumn.

Tarnawa has a hope on the soft in the Autumn Mike.

Its all very difficult to work out. Take the Ballydoyle colts – presumably what they thought were their best three, out with the washing at HQ. Then the Dewhurst winner dots up in France today. Its a puzzle alright.

I wouldnt be surprised at all if one of Wembley or battleground won the irish guineas tbh

They didn’t run any kind of race at newmarket

I would be surprised personally. They didn’t just look like they needed it, they looked hopeless.

These 3YO colts seem to be making big jumps forward from the first runs this season so no surprise at all to see a few more do the same in the coming weeks. It make yesterdays winner all the more impressive really, if he steps up on that in the next couple of races god knows where he will end up.

Khartoum was 18.5ls last in a Craven and wins easily of 92 in a handicap next time. I’ll be giving Wembley and others another go i reckon to prove themselves. They were Group 1 horses as 2yos, and generally Aidan’s make 3yos especially when they’re Galileo!
