    Well done MrE.:clap:

    A nice winner for everybody today while I was away.

    I was hoping to catch the "Red Arrows" in action at the coast. Unfortunatley, it was very low cloud base and then started to rain from noon so no chance of a sun tan.

    Back down tomorrow so hopefully it will be a better day.

    MrE,

    Well, I know a lot of people don’t like short priced selections. I don’t have the knowledge to select any other way,  I am happier with one selection a day and a high consistency.

    As have I said before I am happy with a 5 LSP a month and anything over that is a bonus. Just hope I can maintain the strike rate.

    Matron….You can and will maintain the strike rate most of the time although it does tend to drop a bit lower during the jumping season. Well it does for me and I assume that we are close enough in our selection methods to assume that the same will apply to you. I have about two losing months per year and I dont lose anywhere near my monthly bank, by losing I mean that I fail to make a profit and some of my bank is gone. I have never totally wiped out my bank. The paper (or method) that you use gives you a slightly better strike rate than me but I compensate now by betting yours and only betting mine when your having a No Bet…. when were both on the same race its still 100% (8/8 this month). keep batting and dont doubt yourself for a minute…. your on fire my friend and I hope the rest of the group is following………  :buddy:

    Matron, to help share the chores, I’ll keep scores of our joint attempt at satchel busting…. I’ll keep two scores if thats OK because I dont think that level stakes at these prices is the correct reflection on just how good this short price betting is…… I understand that to a lot of people, level stakes is the only true staking plan, not so, and hopefully I’ll prove it during the course of the month…. Both methods require a bank of 25 points because thats how many bets were likely to strike in a month……..since 25th Aug =  2/7.. 5/6.. 2/5.. 4/5..

    LSP =    + 2.31 points

    MrE =    + 6.42 points

    I hope you find this satifactory Matron…. :dance:

    Thats fine MrE.

    I personally keep to level stakes as a I nearly frightened myself silly a few years ago. I did recall the story on a thread sometime ago on the Forum.

    Any input is greatly received as the more people that contribute with ideas can only be for the better.

    Yeah, I know what you mean about staking plans and most of ’em I wouldn’t touch with a barge pole, but this one risks no more than the bank that you would adopt for level stakes…. I’ve been betting for over 40 years and have served a long (and costly) apprenticeship, but during that time I’ve met and talked with a lot of intelligent people from whom I have learned a great deal. One of the most helpful things over the last 10 years was how to turn short prices into something worthwhile. I hate that word value, it means different things to different people, it means nothing to me. I prefer the word PROFIT, and as long as the risks are minimal, profit is my aim, not value.<br>With my betting on short prices I stake 1 point on every selection, whatever that wins goes on to the following selection to make a double. The cut off point is 2/1 or 3 points (thats 2/1 + 1 point stake), if the first two selections dont clear 3 points, then roll forward for the treble. When 3 points are reached, start again, easy peasy….. Yes, it has an element of risk, but watch the profits soar…. and remember, if they all lose you can only lose 25 points, and you’d probably be just as stuffed with level stakes if results were this bad….. lets just try it on paper for this month, you can judge by that…….  I must be settling in here to be writing this much, I hope its of use to everybody. Its the only way to bet odds on shots to win money with little risk to capital……..

    Looks interesting MrE.

    Obviously we will have to keep the strike rate up for it to work!
