Matron…. according to the RP, its the other way round. Its got your choice (Willie Conquer) at 8/11 but Zamyatina is 10/11………… I think we’ve got some homework to do to find out which is the best paper cos these two are way apart. All we can do is keep pottering on and keep notes. I’ve been doing it this way for a few years now and its always paid for an holiday, but your strike rates were looking good too when choosing different gee gees, so I had to take an interest. These methods could compliment one another and I wouldn’t feel at all guilty taking more money from the bookies…….

August 20, 2001 at 14:04 #39739Hi Epoman and welcome to the forum. :bounce:
Come on MrE start a new thread and post your selections up. If I stick to my selection process
and you to yours we might have a nice combined
LSP for the month.
Regards – Matron
PS Kathy – nice to see you down here
August 20, 2001 at 14:16 #39740Well, Willie Conquer obliged.
I must admit I did bet on this although not a system bet. Looks like we both had a winner today
MrE.

August 20, 2001 at 20:52 #39741Yep, I gottim @ 5/6 although the SP of 4/6 woulda been acceptable, just. Any less and I’d have let it go, I dont like betting short in maidens….. Tomorrow gives me a headache, the meeting is York, the race is the 3.45 and the horse is Storming Home….. but it wont be carrying my wonga, not when its got another 6 Group one horses against it. The Post has it at 5/4 and I’ll want better than that against that competition….. Lets hope your betting at the other meeting Matron…
Concerning me putting my selections on the board, see following post…………

August 20, 2001 at 21:21 #39742Hi All…. I cannot see the reason for me to put my tips on the board, surely this section is just to air systems to see if they work and not a place to start a tipping competition….. please don’t take this the wrong way, it is not meant to offend… The system that Matron is using on here is almost the same as the method I have been using for a long time, and with reasonable success. It seems that the only difference between the two of us is the media used, Matron uses the "Times" and I use the "Racing Post" but apart from a couple of filters, we will end up with the same selections sooner or later….. The basics of the system were laid down at the very beginning and there is very little to add except to reiterate what I’ve already stated, that to make the operation worthwhile for me, I use a different staking plan…… I will help anybody if they need further clarification but honestly people, I would feel bloody uncomfortable tipping. It takes a lot of bottle to lay yourself open to criticism and I take my hat of to Matron, Rob and Jez for doing just that……
  I’ll keep jabbing away with Matron and if I can overcome this feeling of acute embarrassment, perhaps I’ll have ago….. now I’m gonna have to hide my red face…. :fire:

August 22, 2001 at 21:21 #39747Nice one today Matron but I think you do yourself a gross injustice. The SP’s that you quote are nowhere near to what you can get earlier in the day….. I got 5/6 with Luvbet on Dearest Daisy and its the same most days, with the advent of Internet Betting, there aint many punters that cant get better than SP…..

August 23, 2001 at 07:54 #39748Like you MrE I quite often get a better price than the SP, but is only fair to show the results this way.
Two meetings with the same stats according to the paper I use – still I think "Bells Of Marlin" will end up the favourite and hopefully win!

August 24, 2001 at 20:16 #39752Nice one again Matron, I also agreed with that ‘un but couldn’t get to the ‘puter (my grandkids were all over it and I hardly got a look in)…. hehehe…. as mentioned earlier, I’m gonna check back to see if running mine alongside yours would increase our winnings, with hindsight I think they may…

August 24, 2001 at 22:44 #39753Matron…. using your selections as normal and chucking one of mine in when you dont have a selection (providing I’ve got one that is), would have given us in August, 16 Winners and 5 Losers…. there would have been a LSP of 10 points so far…. using my own staking method would have increased that to 27.6 points profit… It may be worth while just following this idea for a time just to see how it pans out………… it works just as well the other way round too so we should find the going quite comfortable…… Wattya think, should we try it ?????
