Great horse; think he suffered a bit by being labelled ‘the next big thing.’

He was hailed as “the next big thing” before he had even won anything outside of novice company.

Then he had the misfortune to get caught up in fallout from the Gordon Elliott Sitting On A Dead Horse case. Cheveley Park moved him to De Bromhead not long before Cheltenham. I don’t suppose that contributed to his fall in the Turners but it wasn’t ideal preparation.

Maybe he never quite lived up to all the silly hype when he was a novice but he still won a Ryanair and several other Grade 1s.

I hope he runs well in the Gold Cup but I doubt he will be up to winning it.

They surely wont let him go round at big odds at 12 , what would be the point in that , owner is loaded , horse owes them nothing , i can see it of he is fancied but surely hes a very rough chance .

They will though. I hate this sort of thing. Fingers crossed he finishes sound and enjoys the retirement he deserves.

He’s won 17 races , he might not have been the next bit thing but I wouldn’t have minded owning him , he stayed sound to

A rarity like Jonbon , a big money NH purchase who paid back purchase price , running costs and plenty of profit .
Been some huge priced jumps horses I could outrun .
