I absolutley hate the national football team at the moment, and I can’t put my finger on why.
Was so close to having my biggest wager ever today (a lay on England) but chickened out right at the last minute. I think they are an absolutely awful team for the talent at their disposal. I’ve never seen so many good players just freeze when donning a Three Lions shirt… they are truly awful.
But then you look at the manager who practically begged to keep his job after the World Cup with the promise of a new team, more youth etc. And yet he still starts with Terry, Ferdinand, Lampard etc. I shout at the screen, "These guys have had their chance, get rid". But nothing ever changes.
This bunch of lucky sods will scrape through to Euro 2012 so Capello will stick with the same squad, they’ll make headlines off the pitch pre-tournament, get humiliated at the tournament, and we’ll be back to square one.
Am I only the person who can see it?
Do what the Germans did. Star afresh. Get rid of Lamps, Barry, Ashley Cole, Terry, Ferdinand etc – they’ve had their chance – and play with the same squad for the next two or three seasons.
I’m so annoyed. Furious the England are crap, furious at the team selection, furious that they didn’t go on to win the game, furious that I didn’t lay them, furious that Capello is still in charge. I just hate England right now.
Off to get hammered.
June 4, 2011 at 17:58 #358921Ah, Capello has just answered my questions as to why we were so crap today. Cos we were tired.
That’s a ready made excuse for next summer if I’ve ever heard one.
If they were so bloody tired, then why pick players who have played 25 games in the last three months – ie, Champions League/Europa League players like Lampard, Terry, Cole, Milner, Wiltshire, Glen Johnson etc.
****ing idiot.
June 5, 2011 at 09:07 #359002I’m inclined to agree OneEye.
June 5, 2011 at 13:28 #359050They need to turf out the old guard media showponies and give some of the up an coming talent more of a chance, if it weren’t for them England would have lost yesterday.
June 20, 2011 at 10:29 #361694I agree with you too!
