Just a warning, contestants, Round 3 will involve a bit of written work.

But it will be less than 100 words and I think you’ll each find it a labour of love – details to follow after midnight….

I view Heyes/Hawkins as one annoyance rather than individuals but it’s a fair cop. Good luck players!

There’s been no mention of the prize yet. I assume that it’s a case of Barr’s finest cherryade…

“Everything happens for a reason” is a bit of contemporary faux wisdom, popular on social media, and in around Britain’s council estates, and there’s a reason why a prize hasn’t been mentioned.

    There’s isn’t one.

    Sorry about that.

    There is, however, the GLORY!

    A feast in itself, surely?

    No?

    Oh, ok.

Anyway, the final round – if we ever get there – will give the entire forum the chance to engage, though only the actual contestants can win (or jointly win).

Two sets of nominations for Round 2 still awaited….

    Top man, Purwell.

Round 2 can now be closed early and we immediately progress to Round 3.

Using the nominations/votes cast the list of most disliked in racing has been whittled down to the following list:
    Bath racecourse
    owner Sheikh Mohammed
    owner Alex Ferguson
    trainer John Butler
    trainer Mick Easterby
    jockey Robbie Dunne
    bookmaking firm BetFred
    broadcaster Ed Chamberlin
    broadcaster Tony McCoy
    broadcaster Francesca Cumani

The contestants must now choose one of these ten to adopt/endorse as their personal candidate to face a TRF public vote for permanent eviction from the world of horse racing.

They can choose whoever they wish, they can even all choose the same candidate if they wish.

They must all then write, in strictly not more than 100 words, their reasons why the candidate should be banished forever from racing.

Please keep it factual, free of hate speech and, above all, libel free – probably doesn’t even need saying to such an honourable field of contestants, but I will say it anyway.

To successfully make it to Round 4 (the final Round) all written endorsements must be posted by midnight Easter Saturday night (tomorrow).

The entire TRF membership will be invited to vote on the ten, whether they got written endorsements or not, on Easter Sunday.

Whichever candidate gets most votes will be considered TRF’s chosen evictee and any contestant who adopted that candidate for their written endorsement will be considered the winner, or joint winner of the contest.

If whoever is voted out by the TRF massive wasn’t the subject of an endorsement, the contest will be considered a no-score draw!

But I think this outcome unlikely.

    Endorsement of Betfred

Betfred is the only online bookie I have personally come across that is impossible to log into
I have submitted lost password countless of times and received emails with a new password only for the same thing to happen time and time again until the decision was made to bin them off
Even in the old days when I could log in the navigation of the site was horrendous. A show on oddschecker would have them best price in an Ante Post market but it was like a crystal Maze challenge trying to find the bet on site.
The town shops are not much better, the “sport” machine doesn’t take race bets so you have to write a slip out and converse with a cashier. The bonus on lucky 15 one winner double the odds has gone.. GONE. The one unique offer they had going for them is no longer.

I’d slim that down Nathan. It’s more than a 100 words…and quick before ID sees it ;-)

    SHEIKH MOHAMMED :mail:

Of the above 10 only one can be considered banning for life. In fact the only reason he has not been banned for life is because of the huge amount of money he puts into the game. It’s about time the BHA grew a pair and told this kidnapper (a UK judgement found) where to go. Scaredy-cats.

Homer right on the money and has lasted the first entire course – congratulations, sir.

However – devastated to lose you, Nathan, but as you rightly say and Al Murray’s pub landlord would confirm….”rules is rules.”

    “No soup for you!”

I await the remaining written endorsements with bated breath….

    TONY McCoy.

He never criticises jockeys when they have a bad ride.
Never tells us anything that we don’t already know.
Considering the amount of money he’s earned over the years, you would think he might cheer up occasionally!

    Francesca Cumani

Some may find her attractive; I don’t.
Some may like her voice; I don’t.
Some may say she’s there on merit; I would argue that it’s nepotism more than talent.

So far, all very subjective. But what everyone, I would hope, can agree upon is that she doesn’t add much to the programme: her knowledge of form is limited and of betting even more so. Her paddock comments are all clichés and she often struggles to make any sense at all.

Sorry, Cesca, but it’s off to Mars for you.
