2 15 Hamilton
3 point WIN- GRIFTER 8.0 betfair
Normally do these bets with the bookmakers to get BOG but this one is only 11/2 with bookies and 7/1 with betfair and I’m expecting this to be heavily backed and return markedly shorter so gone for betfair this time.
June 29, 2021 at 08:07 #1548398GRIFTER was set a very tough task on debut running in a class 3 maiden at York’s big June meeting.
He completely blew the start and was green as grass but still made eye catching progress and showed he has plenty of ability and improvement to come.
The only horse out of that race to run since was the 2nd GIA A SUB. He won the class 2 Sprindrifter stakes at Pontefract yesterday impressively. The apindrifter stakes is a known good 2yo race that often produces very good winners.Fahey rarely sends a 2yo to Ireland but Grifter has an entry in the Naas Ballyhane stakes. That race will be filled with heavyweights from Aiden O Brien, Dermot Weld, Bolger, Godolphin and the list goes on. A very big 2yo race.
The fact Fahey has bothered to enter this horse in that race suggests Grifter is thought very highly of.
He also has an entry in the £200,000 Doncaster Weatherbys Scientific stakes which is another highly prized 2yo race.
The signs are clear Fahey thinks this is a very decent 2yo.Grifter is a well bred 2yo, his sire Dandy Man is full of speed, he was unplaced on debut like Grifter but then hacked up on 2nd run as a 2yo and a similar fate looks likely for Grifter.
He also has some serious class on the dam side, Fleabiacuit only ran twice, she won a decent race at Haydock on debut and was then thrown in at the deep end in the grade 1 fillies mile on Newmarket’s champions day.Grifter is a serious 2yo with a serious chance here. The 7/1 with betfair is outrageous. This horse should be favourite and I’m predicting the big money to arrive at some point for this superstar in waiting.
June 29, 2021 at 12:18 #1548420Smullen is the other horse who holds the big Naas entry and this is the danger horse.
Grifters advantage is he is open to any ammount of improvement on this 2nd run where as Smullen has been beaten twice at 8/13 and 9/2, he will still improve but not as significantly as Grifter will today.
The Mark Johnston horse is the new favourite but reamains a maiden after 3 runs.
Richard Fahey has a superior record to both Kevin Ryan or Mark Jonston in 2yo turf maidens.
It’s no wonder the big bucks are now starting to pile on ‘The Special One’ GRIFTER.

6 Point WIN – MOJOMAKER 9.0 betfair
Absolutely sensational. The third double maximum of the season. The previous 2 produced the greatest 2yo alive GO BEARS GO to win the Railway Stakes at 17/2 and the Greatest horse of all time the Triple Crown winner in waiting POINT LONSDALE the derby and Guineas favourite winning at Royal Ascot.
The team could not have imagined a 3rd double maximum. But there it is the sensational- the incredible – the magnificent MOJOMAKER.
NEXT STOP
MOLESCOMB STAKES WINNER 2021 – MOJOMAKERJuly 2, 2021 at 08:50 #1548723Absolute machine of the 2yo. The team were all over this horse at hi he prices for his Chester debut but he didn’t handle the track at all and came last.
Smashed up over CD in a very fast time. Softer ground is no problem.
Stable mate of the greatest 2yo of 2021 GO BEARS GO.
Improving at a rate of knots. Wins this before having a crack at the MOLESCOMB stakes at Goodwood.Only 1 winners the Dragon stakes had 1 previous run. Experience is paramount in this race which is bad news for hype horse Kaboo and Instinctive Move, the latters stable is not firing either.
Navello looks an early peaker who needs faster ground.
The dragon stakes is no place for fillies and Devious Angel isn’t good enough to be one of the rare fillies who win this.
Fearby and Little Earl are out of their depth. When Pat Cosgrave asks the machine to stretch out this field is getting put to bed in a matter of strides. Prominent throughout when Pat says go then the rest say ‘oh no’.
