Another who turned mediocre form around was DUKE OF MARMALADE.

He was a favourite of mine. Was disappointed with the way his stud career panned out. Hope he realises his potential in South Africa.

A horse running at Southwell today – Hargam. He seemed to lose his way at the Henderson yard. Moved to John Quinn last season. Had 3 starts over the winter all on unsuitable ground but then scored off a lowly mark of 115 in May. Has the change of scenery helped going from a big stable to a much smaller stable? Was his last win a confidence booster and the start of a revival? Or was it just that things were in his favour last day – Ground, weight – that even he would have found it difficult to lose. I wouldn’t be surprised if he won again today.
