We’ll find out when the decs come through tomorrow morning.
Willie is mob handed in the beginners on Wednesday at the moment – Cadspeed, Cest Ca, Secant Star, For The Staff, Call The Police and Mikael D’Haguenet.

-3541 9 Noble Prince (GER) (PNolan)
-31f1 10 Realt Dubh (NMeade)Disappointing that Thegreatjohnbrowne doesn’t take his chance as I thought he’d be the main danger to Mikael D’Haguenet. Realt Dubh, Jessies Dream and Noble Prince should offer him a good test though. Very informative race in prospect.
November 24, 2010 at 16:26 #329613I’m probably in a minority of one here but Back Of The Pack looks a totally different horse now she’s been switched to fences, ok she was nowhere near the class of these over hurdles (though the same was true on her most recent Chase start at Cork) but is a bold jumping mare who’s 3/3 in Novice Chases this season and is the only out and out front runner in the race.
She has plenty to find on hurdles form but is one of the more experienced members of the field and at 16/1 the first three with Stan James she represents good value.
There are plenty of other useful types in the race as has already been alluded to on this thread and I know that Kiely’s think the world of Head Of The Posse – the 10/1 about him is too big also (as low as 4’s with Ladbrokes).
One further point – 10 entries at the 5 day decs stage and Powers are 1/4 1-2, be careful who you bet with.

November 24, 2010 at 16:39 #329615The words from Mullins are such that Micky D looks to be back to his best from what he can see. This horse was always considered a chaser and his hurdles career was merly just a stepping stone. This horse deserves to go off at 4/6 for me. He has tons in hand on Hurdle’s ratings so its a mere formality for me. Either he has retained his ability or he hasn’t and i reckon he has from the trainer’s comments so i be taking that price of 5/4 with powers if it arrives on the day

November 26, 2010 at 13:11 #329979Timmy is retained jockey for owner David Johnson Fran so he’ll be riding the horse when available.

December 14, 2010 at 17:15 #332596I think this is a modest contest, albeit I haven’t seen Jessie’s Dream yet. The only question, tho It’s a big one, is whether MD has retained his form.
December 14, 2010 at 19:32 #332612Trip will probably be a bit sharp for Quito De La Roque, but I think he’s a really nice horse, and hopefully he can give me a decent run, had a few quid on @ 26’s/27’s.
Think he’ll be even better over further later in the season.
December 14, 2010 at 22:33 #332639Agreed Venture To Cognac that Quito De La Roque is a really nice prospect, but as you’ve said yourself he will be better over further. He jumps like a book if what I’ve heard is true but I just can’t see him having the speed for these at all. Imo he has Irish National written all over him.
December 15, 2010 at 14:46 #332705Looked strange that MDH fell through that jump, on closer view and in slow motion his front legs may have knocked or crossed as he went to land.
Anyhoo the winner himself is a bonny horse and they could go either Arkle or RSA (my choice) with Mikael…remains a towering prospect.December 15, 2010 at 16:44 #332729Willie Mullins will be jumping hoops after that considering.
He jumped quite well in the main…travelled all over his rivals…and had a just knuckled over on landing but up straight away and caught. Perfect recovery by Townened as well.
MDH will win the RSA Chase i have no doubt IMO

I agree.
19 months off and first run over fences, he was cantering all over them, and although I lost a bit I was just waiting to see back down the field that he was o.k, cause my price for the R.S.A next year is a good’un.
December 15, 2010 at 17:13 #332741It was the most unforunate fall….if you luck at the race his left fore landed quite a way before his right as you look at it head on. As a result his fore took all the weight and simple physics determined the rest.
But the most important thing was the jockey’s reaction as he caught the horse and walked him off the track. In hindsight i am sure Willie will tell paul to ride him as the race is before the last just so he can get in and pop it and get that fall completely out of his head.
