15f14 26 Save My Blushes (GB) (PWFlynn) – 10,11All of the Mullins big guns hold entries in this but only Quel Esprit holds and entry for the weekend (Punchestown Saturday) so he’s running out of time to get a run into them unless he’s planning to send Mikael D’Haguenet or Arvika Ligeonniere here first time up which is unlikely.
Gordon Elliot claims that Jessies Dream is the best he’s ever trained and he bypasses Cheltenham at the weekend to come here. Thegreatjohnbrowne was another who was fierce impressive last time out after a disappointing season last term.
Noble Prince won a very hot beginners chase at Punchestown a fortnight ago but I think he’s more likely to go for the Craddockstown on Sunday over two miles.
November 10, 2010 at 12:56 #327304Thegreatjohnbrowne has had a breathing op. Beginning to think that breathing ops should be mentioned in the way that blinkers and tongue ties are.
November 14, 2010 at 14:43 #327940Both of Noel Meade’s winners today will be aimed at the Drinmore as he lookd to land this race for the second year in a row. Presumably Paul Carberry will be on Thegreatjohnbrowne if he’s recovered from his injury in time.
Noble Prince was pulled out today with a stone bruise so he might be heading here too if Nolan can get him right in time.
November 14, 2010 at 14:46 #327942I think Head of the Posse looks a right good stamp of a Irish Chaser.
Maybe Arvika could go their but wouldn’t be fit i would imagine
November 14, 2010 at 14:50 #327945Quel Esprit is the most likely runner for Willie. He’s the only one of his horses that has an entry for a beginners this week (Limerick on Wednesday). Hard to see him running Mikael D’Haguenet first time out in such a hot contest.
I’ve heard Arvika has had a slight setback. He’s something of a hype horse at the moment. I think he’s a scandalous price for Cheltenham considering he’s achieved very little on the track so far.
November 14, 2010 at 14:54 #327948Arvika is class

Quel Esprit…meh another bumper come hurdler that hasn’t done much. Willie needs to get rid of these Bumper that go proper Racing sorts. So many are useless over the obstacles bar a few exceptions.
Head of the Posse for me
November 14, 2010 at 14:56 #327950Being unfair on Quel Esprit actually….ran well at the Festival. Maybe him but i just like Head of the Posse. Promper Jumper.
What has happened Bertie’s Dream lads?
November 14, 2010 at 15:28 #327955Was Berties Dream flattered by his win in the 3 miler last year? He was beaten off a mark of 100 in a Galway Handicap Hurdle in 2009 after all. I remember everyone scratching their heads when he went in at the festival and no one really had a clue who he was!
Quel Esprit has to repair his reputation after Cheltenham but he is very highly thought of. Patrick napped him for the 2m5 race and Willie looked shocked when Coole River beat him at Leopardstown.
November 15, 2010 at 11:46 #328042Looks like Micky D might line up after all. Willie reportedly delighted with his work after racing at Punchestown yesterday.
I’m booking my tickets!

Micky D turns up Micky D rules.
Is there a better chasing prospect around? I doubt it
November 15, 2010 at 15:14 #328071Arrvika Leg’ is top of my horses to oppose list.
Big empty crate, in my view.November 15, 2010 at 15:43 #328080

Willie has left Mikael D’Haguenet’s comeback off so long that if he runs I believe he’ll be ready for action. He has to be my bet on what he achieved before his injury.
November 17, 2010 at 17:28 #328356Mikael D’Haguenet must be very forward if he’s going to run here in preference to Quel Esprit.
That was an excellent display of fencing from the latter at Limerick.
November 17, 2010 at 22:26 #328404Willie runs Morning Supreme over 2m 2f at Thurles tomorrow so hoping that she gets off to a winning start too.
Imagine she’d be one for those Mares Chases though IIRC they all seem to be over 2 1/2m and I have my doubts about her stamina at that trip.
November 18, 2010 at 13:07 #328477Mikael D’Haguenet entered in a beginners chase at Naas next Wednesday
November 22, 2010 at 16:53 #329251Arvika out for the season
Citizen Vic
Fionnegas Dead.Novice chasing ranks taking a battering obviously except CV. I hope Willie does not have more injuries….very disappointing.
November 22, 2010 at 22:30 #329334So is Mikael D’Haguenet running here or on Wednesday? ? ?
