    The cry is often that we have too much racing but figures suggest maybe not and our problems lay elsewhere. Bookies ?

    This is a very interesting article which shows out of the major racing nation Britain comes third in the table of money wagered per race. A higher amount than USA, Japan and Australia.

    Now let’s look at size of country (by population) per number of races. Doing some figures of my own head of population per race. Out of the major racing nations only France has a higher head of population per race than us.

    Australia 1205 head of population per race.
    United States 6988
    Japan 7656
    Hong Kong 9102
    Britain 9968
    France 13530
