I backed Ancient Times at 11/1 last night in the hope of improving my dismal record in this contest.
Last week’s run should have put him spot on, his draw looks OK and he has a decent 7lb claimer on board.
Not a bad shout and Clarendon House can’t have it too Firm and could go well too.
I love this race – actually, I wish Epsom had a Group 1 (transfer the Temple and upgrade it?) this day every year, Cooper carried on delivering proper summer fast ground like he has this year and there could be an annual assault on the world time record for 5f.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"The last time I backed the winner was Duke of Firenze, 10 years ago. Then a Cheveley Park/Michael Stoute horse with Ryan Moore on his back. He surged past the whole field in the final furlong.
I think I might have been there!
The Duke flew home fast and late that day.

Recon Mission 33/1 e/w 1/5 7 places Skybet – Have this one top of my figures by a pound. Not an obvious selection but goes well here and has lightning early speed so surely favoured by conditions and well worth an e/w pot with 7 places.
The Thin Blue Line 40/1 e/w 1/5 6 places PP – A regular ‘suspect’ in sprints in Scotland and the North of England so one I know well. Not that easy to win with, my group of regulars could do a character assasination of this one, but there’s bound to be serious pace and he can pick them off late on as he did earlier in the season at Musselburgh.

They have done a good job getting a few pounds off him in his last couple of runs. Missed the break in both of them quite badly also, so hope the first time headgear wakes him up a bit.If he does it again in this it’s game over so just on the nose.
