Okay I will declare I am talking out of my pocket here as I backed LIHOU and ANCIENT TIMES and Mrsraymo backed LIVE IN THE MOMENT and VINTAGE CLARETS so we were financially involved so to speak.
But the stewards are absolute buffoons!!
On what planet can they say they were not affected by the stalls opening late??If the rest of us did our jobs so badly we would be sacked in an instant but these buffoons are just beyond belief.
Mrsraymo is incandescent still ( a day after) and I am not far behind her!!
June 4, 2023 at 15:53 #1650527“When the race was declared weigh in, were the stewards aware of the gate issue? I think you could not call a void race after weigh in signal was given. Or when did the stewards found out that gate issue”
I have my doubts as they have failed to say so one way or the other but came out with “The stewards reviewed the start prior to clearing the race”.
They should have noticed it before weighed in if they were doing their job.Regarding Overdose moehat, the race was stopped before halfway, a bit similar to The National that never was, a few carried on. They ran the race again later in the day if memory serves but I would have liked to have seen the head on of the one stall not opening.

It’s called having skin in the game, Raymo61, which actually makes your view just as valid – if not more – than anyone’s.
I actually had a bit on the winner, but it should have been a void race – I agree with you.

We did and we wont let this lie!!

Even if the stewards weren’t aware at the time, saying afterwards that no horses were affected feels like a complete cop-out. It’s a short race primed for speed, every second matters.
June 5, 2023 at 02:06 #1650572I have to agree with what everyone has said, and I backed the winner.
He won by a shd, the 3rd was a further hd back. With such tiny distances
when a horse is probably travelling around 30 miles an hour towards the
end of a race (poss up to 40 in-running downhill at Epsom) how can it
possibly be deemed not to have any effect on the race. Anyway, I’ve cleared
out my winnings from Paddy Power, so he can whistle for it
June 7, 2023 at 08:05 #1650771I would say – Its not a great advert for the “attract new people to the sport” most of non racing people already think the sport is fixed so if backing a couple on Derby day…. nah forget that they wouldn’t have even noticed.

Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
June 19, 2023 at 05:22 #1651955Three of the horses affected by their stalls opening late – Vintage Clarets, Lihou and Ancient Times – finished first, second and third in a sprint at Chester on Saturday. The latter two were placed despite both drawn on the outside.
They were denied a proper run through no fault of their own at Epsom. But the stewards say their chance was not compromised.

I think we now have the proof they are three in form sprinters. Anyone who backed them was denied a fair chance last time.
