Very sad news indeed. To be taken at this age is quite tragic. We are all diminished by his passing.
June 4, 2006 at 18:22 #95899Apologies if this seems very sentimental but I keep checking the RP site to see if they mention Daylight. This site, the Racing Post and Betfair are so entwined in my racing mind that I keep checking the site and asking myself "why have they not mentioned Daylight – do they not realise how important he is"
Anyway apologies if this comes across as melodramatic – I’ll delete it if anybody requests it.
June 4, 2006 at 18:24 #95900Can only echo everybody elses sentiments. My thoughts are with you at this desperately sad time.
June 4, 2006 at 18:31 #95901LRM, I’m so sorry to hear of Daylight’s passing. It’s sad and bizarre to realise that I didn’t know his real name until now. I will always remember meeting him for the first time – when Amelia won at Leicester in June 2002 – I told him that I didn’t think she could win yet he still invited me for a glass of champagne in the winners’ room after the race. He was one of the good guys and will be sadly missed.
June 4, 2006 at 19:01 #95902
I have to say I am lost for words.
My condolences to his wife and family. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I didn’t even know his name, but in a funny sort of way I had an idea of what he was like. I am sure he was a great, caring, loving husband.
He will be also be sadly missed by all of us here.
June 4, 2006 at 19:17 #95903I must just say that a day on, I’m still in shock. I just can’t believe something like that could have happened so suddenly and to someone so young.
I remember the fun we all used to have in the chat room with the quizzes. Craig was always very fair with his awarding of points, and that’s how he handled disputes on TRF too; very fairly. He couldn’t have done a better job. I’ve been a moderator on a forum myself and I know how tough it is!
Once more, our thoughts are still with you Debs and Luke and will continue to be.

June 4, 2006 at 19:18 #95904Debs
Nev and I are so sorry to hear about your loss. We have known you and Craig since the early days of the forum and know how hard you both worked on this forum to make it what it is today.
Our one regret is that we nearly met ,although we kept in touch by email he was a great guy, a good husband to you and a great father to Luke.
He will missed by a lot of forum members who had the up most respect for him.
Our thoughts are with you and Luke and will be in touch soon.

I have been sitting here stunned not knowing quite what to say. Although we have never met I felt through our messaging and the poker with Craig I got to know you both well.
Mine and Claire’s thoughts are with you and Luke at this terrible time.
He made me laugh out loud so many times.
