Bet Skelton wishes he,s had that racecourse day out , Frost s fractions lit him up , convinced Frodon will be in the GC to help BMG akin to the KG
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
January 28, 2023 at 14:53 #1632638No word from Joe , still celebrating , let’s face it Ah Senor is Joe’s Scotch corner ..
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
January 28, 2023 at 15:03 #1632643I think that they should maybe start to think about retirement for Frodon now, he is 11 and believe it or not has been jumping since a 3 yr old in France.
Unless they look to something like the veterans chases I don’t think he has many options now as 3m1F on soft ground seems to be stretching his stamina when he can’t be left alone to dictate a stop/start type of race and dropping back to 2m4f will put him in against Allaho whom he wouldn’t be able to match front running.
As the saying goes he doesn’t owe anyone anything.
January 28, 2023 at 15:36 #1632659Noble Yeats gave 3lbs to the winner and 6lbs to the runner up.
I think he will turn the form around in March, especially with a stronger pace.
January 28, 2023 at 15:44 #1632661We didn’t see the GC winner today
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
January 28, 2023 at 16:10 #1632665Frodon shouldn’t run in the GC, imo. Noble Yeats wasn’t given a hard time until they started coming down the hill. I’m quite sure his shrewd connections know that they still have a few lengths in hand. He was staying up that hill in the end and the extra furlong in the GC will help.
But, well done to Ahoy Senor and connections, especially because they didn’t get rid of the jockey. An excellent ride from Fox.
January 28, 2023 at 16:12 #1632667Ruby he’ll be there to help BMG
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
January 28, 2023 at 16:32 #1632673Most likely, HDLG. But looking at today’s race, this wasn’t the expected GC trial at all. Two horses from the North fighting out the finish with the GN winner a staying on third. I’m sure the Irish contenders won’t have any sleepless nights after this race. Winner and runner-up are rated in the lower 160s and they will have a bit to find in March.
January 28, 2023 at 17:26 #1632684Thanks for the kind comments. Am just sorry she ran him here in this Gold Cup graveyard. I can only hope Scu’s instinct was right and the horse needs plenty racing. Stamina is his game and hopefully he’ll jump better out of decent ground as he’ll not win the big one with a round like today’s. I have him at 66 along with Ed Du Gite at 25s for the QM … so that can’t happen, can it?
January 28, 2023 at 17:58 #1632689You,ve got to dream Joe , life’s pointless without them
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
January 29, 2023 at 13:40 #1632807Great interview with Lucinda starting at around 7:58 min.
You really have to like her. Despite losing her Dad on Monday she still kept her calm and did the right thing by declaring the horse for the race. She isn’t a bit emotional, rather down to earth and seems to know Ahoy Senor horse very well. Though he isn’t exactly my Gold Cup horse, I still think he’ll give you a good round for your money.
Good luck to her and to the connection!
Oh, and Protektorat should go for the RyanAir.
January 29, 2023 at 15:03 #1632828Mixed feelings about yesterday’s race.
On the one hand, my 12/1 for the Gold Cup about Protektorat might as well be 120/1 now. But my 18/1 against Bravemansgame got a boost.
Ahoy Senor won well and I was pleased for his connections. But I cannot get away from the thought he is going to hit a fence in the Gold Cup and blow his chance.
I still think Noble Yeats is the one to take out of yesterday’s race. In March, he will not be giving away weight and will have an extra furlong. I doubt his ultra shrewd connections emptied the tank yesterday.
January 29, 2023 at 15:15 #1632835Day 1 if no chocolate hon nobs until Ash Wednesday and Chezza ain’t gonna lie – he’s already struggling.
My 12/1 Protektorat is looking as sick as a parrot and I’m really not sure about Bravemansgame at Cheltenham after February.
Noble Yeats ran more like I’d expect a Grand National winner to run – no Nunthorpe-seque turn of foot this time, but stayed on well.
