Very disappointing. Congratulations to all layers of the beast.
November 1, 2008 at 21:02 #187451Segal and a lot of this mornings’ papers tip my selection Virual

I’m hoping *ankable is really tired after the long season

Yipeeee!
November 1, 2008 at 21:08 #187453That head carriage wasn’t one becoming of a horse that is 100% straightforward, but as I said before today’s race, it could be one too many. It would come as no surprise at all to me to see him breaking his Group race duck fresh in the Earl of Sefton next spring.

You aren’t the first I’ve heard say that David.
I had Bankable as a banker in my Scoop 6 today in the belief that he would at the very least trade at odds on in running. Thank the Lord I went out in the fifth leg or I’d have been tempted to string myself up.
This argument has become rather messy, but Bankable has fundamentally proven that he is generically pattern standard while not living up to the expectation of the few who believed he was a truly top class talent. He had an excellent chance today but has also had a very long season. His inability to stick his head in front remains a worry and I must say I was disappointed by the way he travelled today.
November 2, 2008 at 04:07 #187527Funny thing about that 5th leg though is that Lucky Dance winning wasnt so unreasonable.
Lucky Dance only finished 2L behind With Interest (Who also won today) last time out and finished ahead of Cambridgeshire 2nd Nanton in the same race.
You did much better than me though. I got the 6th leg and that was it

I agree, and my failure to hang myself was partly due to backing Lucky Dance at 50 as a means of saving on my Scoop 6 chances; as an aside, George Foster deserves great credit for his achievements in the last few months, and will surely do even better next season.

May well have been one too many DJ.
Certainly his worst race since his seasonal debut, and the only time, apart from his Hunt Cup debacle, when he hasn’t been in contention at the end of the race.November 3, 2008 at 01:12 #187647Major disappointment.
I am wrong…..and how good it feels

Erm, till next year!
That really was his worst performance this year….no excuses, bar being over the top….but even I’m struggling to believe that.
Firefox, did you lay the beast?
Zip
February 20, 2009 at 01:47 #211243May as well bring this one back to the top. If he wins, will it prove he’s just a handicapper? Or would winning a handicap off 113 suggest he’s group class?
Has to be a maximum lay off 14 lb higher than what he couldn’t win the Hunt Cup off.
February 20, 2009 at 02:00 #211247Impossible to price him up for 3 reasons imo.
Wasnt happy at Cumani’s? – New stable make a difference?
Had a physical problem that prevented him going thru the pain barrier last season? – Have they fixed it?
Simply overrated last year? Impossible to tell until he’s run 2 or 3 times for De Kock.February 20, 2009 at 02:12 #211252He’s declared with a tongue-tie for the first time
Is this because he gurgled or something along those lines?

Forecasts have him down as around 3/1 SP so sounds like you’ll get your chance. He’s a bet for me at 3’s
