Henderson’s Spring Note fancied clearly in this next race – let’s see how this one runs.

The plot thickens….

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"March 2, 2024 at 15:07 #1683336Overall the stable seems out of form. When Ed tried to probe Fitzy he remained tight lipped.
The more I know the less I understand.
March 2, 2024 at 15:14 #1683339Was keen to see how Under Control would run at Kelso but he was pulled out earlier. Not sure of the reason.
March 2, 2024 at 15:20 #1683341It’s been possible to lay Sir Gino for bits and pieces and bet it back at a bigger price in the last hour or two despite the yard having a winner – Jury out on it all still.
Fascinating tbh.
To me, anyway.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"March 2, 2024 at 15:43 #1683350Spring Note was the only horse of all the Henderson horses today that was well backed.
Value Is EverythingMarch 2, 2024 at 17:21 #1683369GM23 – It was due to a vet’s certificate
Governor of India was another that was PU at Kelso – so of his 6 runners today we have form figures of: PU-5-2-PU-1-PU
That makes a PU strike rate of 50% from his last 16 runners.
March 2, 2024 at 17:31 #1683370This is the biggest joke in my opinion:
He already knows how bad the horse must be, if he talks about a “miraculous improvement”.
Reminds me a bit of that bloke with the huge I-Phone, “abnormal improvement” was his quote….This is no way to treat the racing world (which includes horse, connections and NH fans).
March 2, 2024 at 17:45 #1683371tbh I don’t know what you’re complaining about, Ruby.
Henderson knows how bad it is, because he’s said CH needs “miraculous improvement”.
Seems to me he’s warning punters CH is unlikely to get there. What is wrong with that?
Value Is EverythingMarch 2, 2024 at 17:56 #1683373Thanks LD73
I really can’t see how he can risk the horse with figures like that.
March 2, 2024 at 18:12 #1683374I suspect Hendo isn’t on ERL’s Christmas card list

The more I know the less I understand.
March 2, 2024 at 19:56 #1683384No, he isn’t on my Christmas card list RTB.
Mark, does it make sense to be that hesitant about probably the best hurdler you’ve ever trained? And are the results from Monday 100% set in stone? What about if his blood worsens 2-3 days later? That Monday sample is not going to be the last one before Cheltenham. And why doesn’t he mention his other runners with one single word? Almost none of them seems okay, if they post one “PU” every 2nd race.He very slow with his informations…..
March 2, 2024 at 20:39 #1683385Hendo isn’t any different to the vast majority of trainers. Very few of them want to admit they’ve got a virus. Did Venitia talk about her runners? Suspect they’re worried saying too much may put off new owners and encourage existing owners to move their horses.
Value Is EverythingMarch 2, 2024 at 21:02 #1683386I know, Venetia never talks about her string being out of form every year during January and February.
Just hoping Nicky sends the right horses to the Festival as I wouldn’t want to swerve them.
March 2, 2024 at 21:16 #1683388ERL, always enjoy your postings and banter with you and like to think we’re forum pals but, like GT, I am a bit puzzled by your view here.
Henderson seems to be more open about each and every stage of this process than any trainer I can remember for some time.
He said days ago any other horse in any other race and you wouldn’t dream of trying to run it Tuesday week.
This told me pretty much everything I needed to know.
It’s only his own desperate hope that means it’s not already been taken out.
He won’t withdraw the best Champion Hurdler in years until he absolutely has to and he might even run against his better judgement.
But either way I don’t see it winning now.
The only thing holding up the price is the horse’s outstanding ability at its peak.
But it clearly isn’t anywhere near its peak.
If it runs, I’d think it more likely to be pulled up quickly once struggling than win.
And it probably won’t even run.
One thing racing isn’t good at is accepting reality.
“Constitution Hill Is Unwell.”
It’ll be playing at a theatre near you one day.
They need to face facts, withdraw him, watch State Man win then send him chasing.
And, err, leave the bookies to pay me out.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"March 2, 2024 at 21:24 #1683390Henderson’s response to CH’s virus has been fine, but it does emphasise how a season can be wasted if Cheltenham remains the be-all.
March 2, 2024 at 21:39 #1683392ID, the bookies won’t pay us out until Constitution Hill is retired. If he was sent novice chasing, there is always the possibility he could do a Beech Road/Morley Street/Buveur D’Air and go back hurdling halfway through the season.
I am still waiting to be paid out on Liz Truss not being Prime Minister when the next General Election is called.
