If they don’t declare him, it will be very interesting to see if they call it a season then and there or if they will give him an easy week or so and then prepare him for a Punchestown showdown with State Man, as I don’t see Aintree being an option given his performance there last season.
March 2, 2024 at 21:45 #1683394would the worst scenario be Constitution Hill not showing up or Constitution Hill being pulled up? I think its the latter by a mile, Henderson already gets pelters as it is, some of it justified imo, but it could get really nasty if he does get CH to Cheltenham and he’s half baked because he’ll probably still go off pretty short even if there are doubts about him and plenty will get stuck in and do their dough. Wouldn’t be my sort of price even if he lost a leg but from a racing perspective I only want him there if he’s ready to give his best or close to it.
March 2, 2024 at 22:15 #1683398“ID, the bookies won’t pay us out until Constitution Hill is retired.”
You’re not wrong, now I come to think about it after your above comment, CAS.
We could be in for quite a wait.

The yard’s performance in recent weeks makes eye-catching reading, yes, a couple of winners but so many well beaten (and quite a few pulling up) and a lot of them at short prices.
I suspect a virus – some have it, some don’t, and Constitution Hill has.
I don’t see him running or winning.
Regarding Sir Gino, I laid off my bets on him yesterday but, after the stable winner, was able to back him back bizarrely at bigger odds.
I now stand to win slightly more than before but I am still lumbered with him and he travelled to the gallop with Constitution Hill, presumably in the same box.
I will probably stick with him now, as most of my bet is NRNB, but I’m less confident than I was.

March 4, 2024 at 10:30 #1683514Constitution Hill back into 2.7. Has Henderson had the blood test results?
March 4, 2024 at 11:38 #1683522…And out to 4.2

March 4, 2024 at 12:27 #1683530Balls. But not a surprise.
Concerned Irish Point is going to be be re-routed to the champion hurdle now!
Goodbye cruel world!
March 4, 2024 at 12:27 #1683531Is he 100% out or is there a Binocular chance for him to make the race?
March 4, 2024 at 12:31 #1683532In a statement from Henderson definitely out. Not unexpected but a major disappointment was one of my highlights for the week.

March 4, 2024 at 12:52 #1683534Disappointing, but he’s got a good chance of being back next year.
Value Is EverythingMarch 4, 2024 at 13:16 #1683540Worst Champion hurdle in my time now I’d say. State Man has been winning better races in Ireland.
Surely Munir will look to supplement Impaire Passe now. I’d have him as the clear 2nd fav.March 4, 2024 at 13:18 #1683542Oh crikey. I’ve got an ante post bet on him: not much of a price though!
March 4, 2024 at 13:25 #1683544Ruby, could you imagine…

Henderson taking a photo of a statement to put back into the computer to post on twitter
“Yes, I know its only 6 hours to the Champion Hurdle but Constitution Hill, burst out of his stable this morning, took himself for a hack, knocked down my door, has had a couple of bowls of Weetabix and looks a lot brighter than he did at Kempton for that gallop a couple of weeks ago” “Its going to sound mad but I phoned the receptionist, who does all our entries etc and she totally forgot to cancel his declaration, so here we are”
