Forget the camel , how impressive is this dog , I’m not worried about punches at Cheltenham , I’m worried after CH crosses the line we’ll see a bare chested Chezza pull Nico off him and then ride him into the winners enclosure
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
February 10, 2023 at 08:45 #1634798It would be positively rude not to, and no self-respecting member of racecourse security would even dream of intervening to prevent it.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"February 10, 2023 at 13:11 #1634816Seeing that would be worth the price of admission alone
March 12, 2023 at 09:47 #1638648Michael Buckley has just been interviewed on Luck On Sunday and suggested that he’s inclined to go chasing rather than stick to hurdles next year. They’ll decide over the summer.
March 12, 2023 at 10:36 #1638651Arkle , Champion chase then Gold Cup ….sorted
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
March 12, 2023 at 10:40 #1638653Anything to avoid Gaelic Warrior…

Constitution Hill is so good. The only worry would be longevity although he is still young. Henderson won’t over race him but I’d be looking for the Gold Cup 2025 rather than 2026

March 12, 2023 at 10:59 #1638663That’ll be the same warrior trying to jump into the stand at every hurdle

Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
March 12, 2023 at 11:55 #1638683Given how often Henderson tells us that CH is so fast on the gallops that he needs a miler to go with him, it would be great to see him given a try on the flat. No handicap mark obviously, so he’d have to go straight into a Listed or Group race (not worth running in novice/maiden races).
If I was running things at York, I’d be making every effort to persuade connections to run him in the Yorkshire Cup – just imagine the interest that would generate.
And it’s not unprecedented – Desert Orchid had a run in the Sagaro Stakes, Looks Like trouble ran in the Queen Alexandra.
March 12, 2023 at 11:56 #1638684If he was mine, depending on his Champion Hurdle run, I’d try him in the Sagaro Stakes – and take it from there. Flat racing is a test of raw ability, well that would tell us…..
March 12, 2023 at 12:05 #1638686Burning Victory was only beaten 1 1/2 lengths in the Ascot Gold Cup. CH would beat her by half the track over hurdles.
He should go for the Gold Cup and I’ll be lumping on him to deal with Kyprios if he does.. I don’t rate the flat stayers.March 12, 2023 at 12:52 #1638694Funnily enough, Buckley mentioned the Ascot Gold Cup in the interview this morning, but he said that Henderson just laughed.
March 12, 2023 at 13:01 #1638695The conditions of the Gold Cup would present a problem – this is what they say:
Horses will only be eligible to run in this race provided
that they have a current BHA Handicap Rating of 80 or
higher at midday of the confirmation stage.
Horses which do not qualify for a rating may also be eligible
providing the BHA Handicapper is satisfied that the horse’s
racecourse performances up to and including the day before
confirmation merit a provisional assessment of 80 or higher.
Horses which have not run will not be eligible. So it would have to be the Yorkshire Cup first. Winning that should earn a mark higher than 80!
March 12, 2023 at 13:13 #1638699I have little doubt Constitution Hill would be pattern material on the Flat.
But seeing as he’s Grade 1 material – and head and shoulders above everything else – over Jumps I fail to see the actual need.
Media and public always want horses to be tested to their limits – trainers like Nicky Henderson just want them to keep winning.
He hasn’t won the Champion Hurdle yet – like Henderson that’s all I care about right now.

March 12, 2023 at 19:12 #1638748For the same reasons, often wondered whu Willie never considered the Gold Cup for dominant hurdlers such as Faugheen or Annie Power, whn overtly inferior stablemates such as Simenon and Wicklow were competitive. Must be a good reason
March 13, 2023 at 13:53 #1638829On one of the preview podcasts they said if CH don’t win by about 15 lengths tomorrow he ain’t that great. ;o)
