Steve Mellish on RTV suggested that the jumps season should start at Cheltenham and run for just two months.
November 19, 2022 at 12:36 #1623738He did the same thing with Shiskin in to save him for Cheltenham last year ….that went well , it’s only good in places to , is he pulling all his horses ? , if I was a owner of be asking why he,s not protecting my horse to
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
November 19, 2022 at 12:38 #1623739To give a sense of balance of opinion, I am in favour of top trainers taking out horses of races for welfare reasons whenever they like as they know more about training horses than I do. ;o)
November 19, 2022 at 12:40 #1623740At least we now have Brewinupastorm and Goshen to watch. Could be entertaining with these two “characters”.
November 19, 2022 at 12:42 #1623743CAS- I think I’ll stick the two rags in a reverse forecast. Just in case.
November 19, 2022 at 12:44 #1623744Mike, if thag constitutes as “welfare” when he ran on spring g/s then jumps racing would be aswell calling it a day
November 19, 2022 at 12:44 #1623745I’d love to see Goshen win …. then hear Moore say he,d have beaten CH anyway
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
November 19, 2022 at 12:44 #1623746Good to soft, with good in places is a real concern? Then take him to Haydock in December and February
November 19, 2022 at 12:52 #1623750It would be raining Ruby ….he can’t get wet …I’m sure if the ground is similar in March he,’ll not run either …
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
November 19, 2022 at 12:55 #1623751And now the 12.55 at Ascot is a walk over. A complete joke.
November 19, 2022 at 12:58 #1623752Will this be a record year for walkovers?
November 19, 2022 at 13:00 #1623753When I first got into racing I used to love staying in on a Saturday and watching all the jumps racing, there was something I found so enthralling about it, there were 1 or 2 small fields on a Saturday but if memory serves me right they were only when you had a horse like Sprinter Sacre in the race. Maybe I just didn’t pay close enough attention but I can’t say I remember this many non runners because of good (ish) ground 10 years ago.
November 19, 2022 at 13:05 #1623754Similar ground at Punchestown today and Henry De Bromhead took out Journey With Me. Won’t find too many moaners about that on here ;o)
November 19, 2022 at 13:08 #1623755Goshen wants it bottomless, doesn’t he?
Btw, this Jumps course was the circuit some were advocating running Champions’ Day on the Flat on just over a month ago because it’s always too Soft on the Flat course by then.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"November 19, 2022 at 13:09 #1623757It’s not a welfare issue as such though Mike as Henderson would run him on the same going at Cheltenham in March.

I was disappointed. How long is he going to wait to start the horse over fences? I can’t believe it was fast ground at Punchestown.
He does have an entry in the Drinmore but he is not likely to be going there now.
