Henderson is a NH trainer and he wants to win the big prizes in that discipline mind you if he had a flat campaign at least it would add some interest, let’s face it was a bland flat season last year.

The more I know the less I understand.

If the owner does not want his precious horse to run over hurdles again, that’s it – he won’t. Henderson does not get a vote. Besides, he has won a Champion Hurdle so there is nothing to prove.

My view is that he should run in a listed flat race and they could take it from there.

Well if people want to argue he’s the greatest ever hurdler he would have to do more , that’s why Istabraq is the greatest , he won 3 champions , trophies on the shelf are worth more than someone saying your a 175 horse …. I reckon we’ll be into the 170s come Monday

“What a double that’d be … Champion Hurdle and Ascot Gold Cup! Has it even been achieved before? ”

    Yes, sort of.

Royal Gait was first past the post in the Gold Cup, but was controversially disqualified. And he won the Champion Hurdle four years later, when he was controversially allowed to keep the race after a stewards enquiry.

You’ll never see this horse in an Ascot Gold Cup because he simply wouldn’t get the trip. He barely gets 2m4f over hurdles so would have no chance on the flat.

He’s always been a speed horse. Almost hit 40mph last night and was only being ridden hands and heels. I think 1m4f/1m5f is close to his optimal trip.

“… that’s why Istabraq is the greatest , he won 3 champions”

Using your (deeply flawed) logic, Istabraq is only the co-greatest: Hatton’s Grace, Sir Ken, Persian War and See You Then also won three Champion Hurdles.

Don’t forget the mighty Dodging Bullets Glad. Won a Champion Chase so is obviously greater than Douvan lol.

Nick Dundee got a horrific injury on only his fifth chase start which completely ruined him. Still one of the greatest horses I’ve ever seen without winning a single grade 1.

Kauto Star has more in the trophy cabinet than Denman plus 2 Gold Cups to 1 yet HDLG will say Denman was better
whatever suits your position I guess…

Your “position” should be based on fact, though, not opinion. That’s where so many people, not just HDLG, go wrong.

    Exactly Nathan.

Everyone but HDLG knows who the greatest of the 2 was.

Kauto Star is the greatest horse since Arkle. Sprinter Sacre would come very close for me but can’t have him over Kauto as he was the best from 2m to 3m2f.

Glad what are you basing your flawed he’s the best ever on , a mythical mark , a horse who hasn’t even been placed in his last 4 runs is the greatest …… id say a NH horse who can’t jump is a pretty big fecking flaw … am I wrong ?

    On the specific question: no.

    Overall: yes.

Constitution Hill’s recent jumping issues obviously cannot be ignored. But these problems don’t suddenly strike everything he has previously achieved from the record books.

Denman and Kauto had 2 different career paths , when face to face Denman finished in front more , that’s how i justify that view , is anyone seriously trying to say Constitution achieved more than Istrabaq…. No
