What a soap opera surrounding this horse.
The more I know the less I understand.
April 21, 2025 at 14:03 #1727851Has to be “no offers” that something comes up during/after the gallop and his trip to Ireland is scrapped.
April 21, 2025 at 15:03 #1727859Laughable in the extreme , he was never going to Ireland , see him again December .
April 21, 2025 at 16:28 #1727872Potentially laying the foundation for a no show I see…….the more things change the more they stay the same.
April 21, 2025 at 17:00 #1727880And now Nico is injured… Too early to say if he will be fit in time for Punchestown, but could they use this opportunity to try another rider IF (and it’s a big if) Constitution Hill runs?
April 21, 2025 at 17:25 #1727893It seems like the ideal excuse Henderson needs to not run the horse.
April 21, 2025 at 17:28 #1727894Summer Holidays beckon id say..Then some races at Newcastle and Kempton after that who knows..
April 21, 2025 at 17:29 #1727895Cough cough Sean Bowen cough cough
April 21, 2025 at 17:30 #1727896Agreed, LD.
Put Bowen on, make all, job done.

Sean Bowen would be ideal. After seeing the way he just won the Irish National on Haiti Couleurs, I’ve no doubt he could work his magic on Constitution Hill.
April 21, 2025 at 17:41 #1727905Should be Sean …. More likely James though
April 21, 2025 at 19:07 #1727934Go for Sean, I’d say. In case Nico wasn’t injured, but suspended, would they also bypass Punchestown? The real problem is the confidence the horse would have to regain and as mentioned before there are too many question marks when tackling a new venue.
I’m quite sure they’ll stay at home and target those two exciting races at Newcastle and Kempton. Just keep him wrapped in cotton wool.April 22, 2025 at 03:56 #1727953Imho for a horse with his ability and lack of leg injuries for a jumps horse his training has not been that good .Be pushing 9 when he next races . The horses ability has got him there , as opposed strangely to Jonbon who they have done very good job with.
My thoughts are they overthought it ,stressed too much and do appear a bit arrogant about the horse in some comments .April 22, 2025 at 09:15 #1727955The Hendersons will all be there even though it’s for the benefit of Mr Mullins.
April 22, 2025 at 21:26 #1728023Well Nico is definitely out for a while now so alternate jockeys needed for both Jonbon and CH (if he runs). James Bowen has ridden Jonbon before so that would seem the most likely route to go with him.
April 22, 2025 at 22:25 #1728025Sorry LD, I just can’t see Michael Buckley changing the script. Not first time out on the road after two falls and uninformative performances.
I wonder if JP would consider Mark Walsh to take over the Jonbon ride.
April 22, 2025 at 23:05 #1728028I think it will be Walsh on Jonbon as well. Bowen has only ridden him once and got beaten on him.
